Alex Caruso is a professional basketball shooting guard for the Oklahoma City Thunder as of March 2025. The native of College Station, Texas, attended A&M Consolidated High School before enrolling at Texas A&M University in 2012. He led the Aggies to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 as a senior. He was named to the SEC All-Defensive Team and the second team All-SEC in 2015 and 2016, respectively. In four seasons of college, he played in 137 games, starting 120 and averaging 8.0 points, 4.7 assists, and 3.7 rebounds per game.

Caruso went undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft but joined the Philadelphia 76ers for the Summer League. Later, he was signed by the Oklahoma City Thunder in September but was waived off in October. Following this, he was signed by the NBA G League's Oklahoma City Blue. In the 2017 season, he joined the Los Angeles Lakers on a two-way contract. He spent four seasons with the Lakers and won the NBA Finals in 2020. The next season, he became a free agent and was signed by the Chicago Bulls for four years. However, he was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Josh Giddey in June 2024. As of March 24, 2025, he has played in 409 NBA regular season games, starting 132, averaging 6.8 points, 2.8 assists and 2.9 rebounds per game.
