Seth Curry is an American professional basketball player who plays as a shooting guard for the Brooklyn Nets in the NBA. He is currently playing his 8th season. Curry was not selected in the 2013 NBA draft. He is the younger brother of the legendary athlete Steph Curry. Despite living in his bigger brother's shadow, Seth has succeeded in securing a strong position with a competitive team in the NBA. Early life
On August 23, 1990, Seth was born in Charlotte, North Carolina. Seth went to Charlotte Christian School, Throughout his high school career, he played for Charlotte Christian School. Curry had averaged 22.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 5.0 assists while shooting 52% from the field in his final year. Seth began his collegiate athletic career with the Liberty University Flames. During the season, he scored 20 points on average per game. Thus, set a new freshman scoring record for the Big South Conference.
Seth made the decision to transfer from Liberty University to Duke University because he wanted to play in the NBA. He scored a career-high 31 points against Santa Clara in 2012. Therefore was chosen for the All-ACC first team in his senior year. As a result of NCAA regulations, he missed one season. Before declaring for the 2013 NBA Draft, he spent his whole three-year career with the Duke Blue Devils.
NBA Journey
In the 2013 NBA Draft, Seth Curry went undrafted. He began playing professionally in the NBA D-League (now called NBA G-League). He was twice chosen as a D-League All-Star while playing for the Santa Cruz Warriors and the Erie BayHawks (now known as the Lakeland Magic). With the Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Memphis Grizzlies, he signed 10-day, non-guaranteed contracts.
With the signing of a two-year, $2 million contract before the start of the 2016 NBA Season, Seth was finally given the chance to play an entire NBA season. He demonstrated to the NBA community that he was a player of NBA caliber. The 2019 NBA Western Conference Finals saw him play against his older brother.
