About New York Giants

The New York Giants, one of the flagship franchises, were established in New York in 1925 and spent their first three decades at the Polo Grounds in upper Manhattan. Former owner Tim Mara founded the club for $500, and his family continued to possess a stake in the organization far into the twenty-first century (in 1930, he split ownership between his two sons, Jack and Wellington). Giants rapidly established themselves as one of the best teams in the early years of professional football, taking home NFL titles in 1927, 1934, and 1938.
After losing steam in the 1960s to the late 1970s (missing playoffs from 1964-1980), the Giants made a name for themselves under head coach Bill Parcells in the 1980s and 1990s, dominating the league. New York's second golden period came in the late 2000s to early 2010s with Eli Manning under center. The Giants are one of the longest-running sports teams in the United States and are often known as the ‘Big Blue Wrecking Crew’ owing to their formidable defensive unit in the 1980s and early 1990s.
New York Giants Next Game
The New York Giants missed the playoffs for the second straight year in 2024 and finished dead last in the NFC East. Big Blue's next game will be held in August 2025, when the team will take the field to play the preseason games.

New York Giants Roster 2025-26
Giants decided to reshuffle their whole QB room for the upcoming season after previously releasing former first-round pick Daniel Jones back in November 2024. After bringing in a veteran presence by signing Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston in free agency, New York decided to invest a first-round pick at the most premium position by selecting Jaxson Dart, hoping he is the long-term answer under center. Cam Skattebo's pickup in the 4th round of the draft gives the Giants a formidable 1-2 punch in the backfield along with last year's surprising rookie performer, Tyrone Tracy Jr.
The G-Men also bolstered their secondary in FA by giving huge contracts to cornerback Paulson Adebo and safety Jevon Holland. However, it was the 2025 NFL draft where the Giants did the most of the damage. They took defensive end Abdul Carter, presumed by many as the best prospect in the draft class, and DT Darius Alexander, to pair them up with an already scary defensive line, which consists of Dexter Lawrence, Brian Burns, and Kayvon Thibodeaux.

New York Giants Owner

John Mara is the CEO and co-owner of the New York Giants, alongside Chris Mara and Steve Tisch. Tim Mara, the founder, passed the team on to his sons, Jack and Wellington. John Mara, the president of the New York Giants as of May 2025, comes from a family with a long football heritage. He was born in New York City. He is the eldest son of Wellington Mara, who used to run the Giants from 1959 to 2005. John's involvement with the Big Blue began in 1991, but it wasn't until 2005, following his father's death, that he took over the team's presidency. Prior to joining the Giants, he practiced labor and employment law.
Steve Tisch, co-owner of the Giants, is an American film producer and businessman. He also serves as the chairman and executive vice president of the New York Giants. He is a partner in Escape Artists Productions, an independently financed film production company based at Sony Pictures Entertainment. John Mara and Steve Tisch were involved in the design and building of MetLife Stadium, the Giants' present home field.
New York Giants Head Coach

Brian Daboll is the 20th head coach in the New York Giants' franchise history (via New York Giants official website). Daboll, who will be entering his 4th season with the Giants in 2025, has an 18-32-1 record as a head coach. Under his tenure, New York won its first playoff game (2022 season) since it last won a Super Bowl. According to many experts, Daboll's best work came when he was an offensive coordinator with the Buffalo Bills, where he groomed Josh Allen to become one of the premier quarterbacks of the game.
New York Giants Quarterback

Since the retirement of Eli Manning, the Giants are looking to find the next face of their franchise under center. While they took a shot on Daniel Jones in 2019, the experiment failed, and the former 6th overall pick was released last year in November. After taking Abdul Carter 3rd overall, New York once again made its way back into the first round of the 2025 NFL draft by trading up and grabbed Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart with the 25th overall pick. Jaxson Dart will not have pressure to start immediately due to the additions of Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston in free agency. Giants fans would be hoping that the Ole Miss signal caller team took, turns out to be as good as the last QB franchise grabbed out of the University of Mississippi in 2004.
New York Giants mascot
The century-old franchise is one of the only four teams in the NFL that does not have a mascot, as reported by USA Today.
