Both sides have faced off once in the 2025 IPL season, where the Rajat Patidar-led unit defeated the Super Kings at the latter's home ground, the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. At one stage, CSK were looking good to win the game when Ayush Mhatre and Ravindra Jadeja were at the crease. RCB held their nerves, and the game went till the last over with CSK needing 15 runs.
