26-year-old bowler Yash Dayal, born in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL and represents Uttar Pradesh in domestic cricket. Yash Dayal is a left-arm fast bowler and bats right-handed. He was a part of the Gujarat Titans team before moving to Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL.

Yash Dayal Career

Yash Dayal started his List A career on 21 September 2018 by making his debut for Uttar Pradesh against Chhattisgarh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and then three months later, he made his Ranji Trophy debut against Goa on 1 November 2018.

Next year in 2019, Yash started his T20 career with the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Talking about Yash Dayal's IPL career, Gujarat Titans included him in their squad in the 2022 Mega Action, and after two IPL seasons, they released him for the 2024 IPL, after which Royal Challenge Bengaluru included him in their team.

Yash Dayal Domestic Career

Yash Dayal made his domestic cricket debut for Uttar Pradesh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy on 21 September 2018 against Chhattisgarh, where he took only one wicket for 41 runs in 9 overs while bowling. Yash started his first-class career just two months later in the same year in November 2018 in a Ranji match against Goa where he took only two wickets in his debut match.

In his debut season of Ranji Trophy, Yash Dayal took 30 wickets in 8 matches at an economy of 2.87 and became the third most successful bowler for Uttar Pradesh.

In his first-class career so far, Yash Dayal has taken 72 wickets in 42 innings of 23 matches with an economy of 2.97 and an average of 29.26.

Yash Dayal played his first Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match in February 2019, where he bowled economically and took one wicket for just 17 runs in four overs.

Yash Dayal IPL Career

Yash Dayal started his IPL career in 2022 where he was included in their team by Gujarat Titans in the mega action for 3.2 crores. Yash Dayal's performance while playing for Gujarat Titans was nothing special. In 2022, he gave away 296 runs at an economy of 9.27 in no matches and took only 11 wickets, whereas in 2023, his performance declined drastically and he took only two wickets in five IPL games at an economy of 11.79.

Before the 2024 IPL auction, Gujarat Titans released Yash Dayal from their squad due to his ordinary performance, after which Royal Challengers Bangalore bid on him for the 2024 IPL auction and included him in their squad for Rs 5 crore. Yash Dayal played 14 matches for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2024 IPL where he gave 459 runs at an economy of 9.15 and took 15 wickets.
