Pandya disclosed in an open Q&A with Star Sports that he selected his jersey number 33, because he preferred the number 3. But, it had already been chosen by two of cricket's greatest players, Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh, thus he was unable to claim it. In order to design his own jersey number, Pandya decided to combine two 3s and make it 33. Hardik's career has been consistently affected by injuries.
