Alzarri Joseph Career
Alzarri Joseph, an Antiguan cricket player who was born on November 20, 1996, plays in both Test and ODI cricket for West Indies. He is a right-arm fast bowler who bowls for the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots in West Indian domestic cricket as well as the Leeward Islands. In the Indian Premier League, he currently plays for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. In 2016, Joseph was named Antigua and Barbuda Sportsman of the Year award. Joseph helped secure the West Indies' victory in the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup during his under-19 career.
Alzarri Joseph Domestic Career
Joseph represents Leeward Islands in the first class from 2014. He also represented St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the Caribbean Premier League from 2016.
Joseph made his first-class debut for the Leewards in the 2014-15 Regional Four-Day Competition. The next season, he opened the bowling with Gavin Tonge and recorded his first-ever five-wicket haul (5/99) against Guyana. In the next game, he claimed five wickets (7/46), this time against the Windward Islands.
Joseph was included in the West Indies team for the 2016 Under-19 World Cup, which they ultimately went on to lift the trophy in December 2015. He finished as his team's top wicket-taker in the tournament with 13 wickets from six matches. He was chosen man of the match for his 4/30 performance against Zimbabwe, which was his finest performance.
He was added to the Leeward Islands team in October 2019 in preparation for the 2019–20 Regional Super50 tournament.
Alzarri Joseph IPL Career
In the Indian Premier League, Joseph was picked by the Mumbai Indians in March 2019 as a replacement for Adam Milne. On April 6, 2019, he made his IPL debut against the Sunrisers Hyderabad and ended with bowling figures of 6/12, which was the best bowling numbers for a debutant since Andrew Tye's 5/17 in 2017. In addition, they were the greatest bowling figures in the Indian Premier League (IPL), surpassing the eleven-year-old record held by Sohail Tanvir (6/14) and ranking second in the T20 league after Deepak Chahar (6/7). In addition, he joined Andrew Tye as the only other player to claim five wickets on his IPL debut.
The Mumbai Indians released him before the 2020 Indian Premier League auction. He went unsold in the 2021 IPL auction. The Gujarat Titans purchased him at the Indian Premier League 2022 auction in February 2022. Alzarri Joseph was brought in by the Bangalore franchise for Rs 11.50 Cr in the IPL 2024 Auction.
Alzarri Joseph International Career
After joining the West Indies Test team in July 2016, Joseph made his debut in red-ball cricket against India on August 9 of the same year. He played in his debut One Day International (ODI) match against Pakistan in October of 2016. Joseph signed a contract with Cricket West Indies (CWI) in October 2018 to play cricket in all forms in the 2018–19 season. He then made his T20I debut at Tarouba against India in 2022.

Joseph made his ODI debut for West Indies against Pakistan in October 2016 during the 2nd ODI in the UAE. He picked 2 wickets in 10 overs and conceded 62 runs. Pakistan won the match by 59 runs. Joseph played impressively for the national side and picked his first international 5 wicket haul against England. He ended the match with figures of 5/56.
Alzarri Joseph Test Career
Joseph made his Test debut for West Indies against India in 2016. He picked 3 wickets in the 1st innings and went wicketless in the 2nd innings in that Test.
Joseph was included in the West Indies Test team for their series against England in June 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Test series' initial May 2020 start date was rescheduled to July 2020.
On December 5, 2020, Joseph made his debut fifty in a Test match, making 86 runs in the second innings of a crushing defeat to New Zealand.
Alzarri Joseph T20I Career
Joseph was called up to play for the West Indies against Bangladesh in their T20 International (T20I) series in June 2022. He was included in the West Indies T20I squad the following month as well, but this time for their series against India. On July 29, 2022, he played in his first T20I match for the West Indies against India.
In the third T20 International against South Africa on March 28, 2023, Joseph got his debut five-wicket haul, leading his team to a 7-run win.
He was included in the West Indies team for the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup in May of that year.

Joseph made his first-class debut for Leeward Islands against Windward Islands in a 4-day match in 2014. In the following season, he picked his first 5 wicket haul against Guyana. He ended with the figures of 5/99.
In the very next match he picked his career best figures of 7/46 against Windward Islands. After these performances he was named in the West Indies’ Under 19 squad for the 2016 World Cup.
In the tournament Joseph took a total of 13 wickets in 6 matches and was 3rd highest wicket-taker in the tournament, as the Windies won the tournament, beating India in the final at Dhaka. His performances earned him a place in the National team.
