English cricket player Harry Cherrington Brook was born on February 22, 1999. He plays for Yorkshire in league cricket and represents England internationally. He is a right-handed batsman and a medium-pace right-arm bowler. In January 2022, he made his England debut on the international stage.
In his first six test matches, he scored an incredible 809 runs, batting ten times with a career average of 80.90 and a strike rate of nearly 100. Brook was a key player of England in the 2022 T20 World Cup.
Harry Brook Domestic Career
While still in school, Brook made his Yorkshire first-class debut on June 26, 2016, at Headingley against Pakistan A. On June 19, 2017, he played his first County Championship match for Yorkshire at Lord's against Middlesex. His debut came after Yorkshire's second eleven had amassed three centuries in a span of two weeks. During the England under-19s' early 2017 tour of India, Brook participated in two U-19 Tests and five U-19 LOIs against the India under-19s on the international scene.
On July 5, 2018, Brook made his Yorkshire T20 debut in the 2018 T20 Blast. Northern Superchargers signed him for the 2021 The Hundred tournament.
Harry Brook IPL Career
Brook joined Sunrisers Hyderabad in December 2022 for INR 13.25 crore to play in the 2023 Indian Premier League. He struck his maiden IPL century against the Kolkata Knight Riders on April 14, 2023. In addition, he made history by becoming the first player to score a century in the PSL and the IPL. After just one season, he was released by Sunrisers Hyderabad in November 2023.

Along with Joe Root, he saved England from likely defeat by leading them from a delicate 21/3 to a total of 435/8 before the declaration. He scored his career-best test score of 186 off just 174 deliveries, including 24 fours and 5 sixes, during the test match with a strike rate of 105.68. Harry and Root put on a crucial partnership of 302 runs for the fourth wicket. After being dismissed by Matt Henry, he went on to become the highest run scorer in their first nine innings in test cricket history, by scoring 809 runs , which beat the previous mark of 792 runs held by Indian player Vinod Kambli.
Along with breaking the record, his partnership with Root also became the highest partnership between an English pair against New Zealand in New Zealand for any wicket. The previous record of 282 runs, held by Andrew Flintoff and Graham was broken by Root and Brook. In just six Test matches, Brook achieved his fourth century, and his career average crossed 100.
With a score of 75, Brook helped England win the third Test of the 2023 Ashes series. He became the fastest player to reach 1000 runs (by balls faced) in this innings.
