Travis Michael Head is an Australian Cricketer who has emerged as a versatile batter in the limited overs format and has played some fighting knocks in Test cricket too. He was born on 29th December 1993. He is a left-handed batsman and also can bowl right-arm off-break. Head is a part of the Adelaide Strikers in the BBL. Travis Head Career
Head made his first-class cricket debut for his home state South Australia in the Sheffield Shield at 18 in early 2012. He made a promising start, scoring his maiden half-century in his second match and falling short of scoring his maiden century in his third match with 90 runs against the Tasmanian side. His consistent performances were well rewarded as he earned a rookie contract with South Australia.
Head's form was rewarded by national selectors when he was included in Australia's squad T20 series against a formidable Indian side on 26 January 2016.
Travis made his IPL debut in 2016 and after featuring in two consecutive seasons he didn’t appear for the next six seasons. This year he made his comeback in IPL for Sunrisers Hyderabad and played a huge role for them in reaching the finals.
Travis Head Domestic Career
Travis Head made his domestic cricket debut for South Australia in the Sheffield Shield in the 2011–12 season and in the first match, he could score only 12 and 21 runs. In the tournament, Travis Head played four matches and scored 219 runs at 27.37. With time, Head established his strong place in the South Australian team. In February 2015, Travis Head became the youngest captain of South Australia at the age of 21. For the first time in 20 years under his captaincy South Australia reached the finals of Sheffield Shield.
Travis Head started his List A career in the Ryobi ODI Cup in 2013, where while batting for South Australia, he was out after scoring four runs in his first innings against New South Wales. As a batsman, Travis Head had scored 24 runs in two matches at an average of 12 in the Ryobi One Day Cup.
Travis Head has scored 10789 runs at an average of 40.10 in 286 innings of 161 matches in his first-class career, in which he has scored a total of 22 centuries with his bat. Travis Head IPL and Franchise Cricket
Travis Head started his franchise cricket career on 10 January 2013 by making his debut for Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League. Travis Head has played a total of 57 matches in the Big Bash League so far, in which he has scored 1394 runs in 55 innings at a strike rate of 130.4 and an average of 27.88, in which he has scored 8 half-centuries and one century, also he has taken 18 wickets in 32 innings.
Travis Head started his IPL career in 2016 for Royal Challengers Bangalore, where he scored only 54 runs in three matches in his first season. After this, he was retained by the team in the next season and scored 151 runs at a strike rate of 139.81 in which he also scored a half-century with his bat.
After playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore for 2 consecutive years in IPL, Travis Head completely disappeared from IPL for the next 6 years. He made his comeback in IPL in 2024 with Sunrisers Hyderabad and scored 562 runs at a strike rate of 191.55 and an average of 40.55, he scored his first IPL 100 in 2024.

Travis Head started his international career in a T20I against India in Adelaide on 26 January 2016 where he contributed just two runs. In June same year, Travis Head started his ODI career against West Indies in Basseterre and in his debut match, Head went on to score just one run, if we talk about his Test career, he made his debut in this format against Pakistan on 7 October 2018 in Dubai.
In the second innings of his first Test match, Travis Head played an innings of 72 runs facing 175 balls.

Travis Head started his ODI career in Basseterre on 13 June 2016 in a tri-series against West Indies which was being played between West Indies, Australia, and South Africa. In 2016, Travis Head scored 416 runs in 14 innings of 15 matches at an average of 29.71, which included three half-centuries in his name.
Travis Head scored his first ODI century in 2017 against Pakistan at the Adelaide Oval where he scored 128 runs off 137 balls. Travis Head's ODI career gained momentum in 2022 when he scored 550 runs in 9 matches at an average of 67.75 and a strike rate of 112.24 with the help of two centuries and three half-centuries.
Travis Head's form was excellent in 2023 too, where he scored 570 runs in three innings, batting with an average of 51.82 and an excellent strike rate of 133.118, which included two centuries and three half-centuries to his name. In the same year, Travis Head made Australia the world champion for the sixth time by playing a brilliant innings against India in the World Cup final.
Travis Head Test Career
Travis Head started his Test career against Pakistan in Dubai in 2018. This was the same occasion when some Australian players were banned from international cricket due to the shameful incident that happened in South Africa, due to which many Australian players got the opportunity to make their debut.
One of those players was Travis Head who got a chance to start his career in Test cricket. In the second innings of his first match, Head batted brilliantly and played an excellent inning of 72 runs on 175 balls. Next year, Head performed brilliantly and scored 742 runs in 17 innings of 11 matches at an average of 49.47, in which he scored two centuries.
After Steve Smith and David Warner came back to international cricket, Travis Head lacked opportunities in Test cricket, he played only six Test matches in the next two years. In 2022, Travis Head once again batted well and scored 655 runs in 15 innings of 10 matches at an average of 50.38, after which he came to be considered an important part of the Australian team.
Travis Head's confirmation of his place in the Australian Test team proved beneficial when in the final of the 2023 ICC Test Championship, Travis Head scored 163 runs against the Indian bowling lineup and made Australia the winner of the Test Championship.
