Shimron Hetmyer Domestic Career
In domestic cricket, Hetmyer plays for Guyana and he made his debut in First-Class cricket for the same team on 11 April 2014 in the Regional Four Day Tournament against Trinidad and Tobago. However, he scored only 4 runs in the match, including a duck which did not give him a very bright start to his professional career.
However, Shimron did not repeat this in his List A debut and scored a century against Trinidad and Tobago, while playing for the West Indies U19 team on 16 January 2015 at Scarborough. In his T20 debut, he again scored a duck while playing for Guyana Amazon Warriors in the 2016 Caribbean Premier League.

Shimron Hetmyer has played for various T20 franchises including the ones in the Caribbean Premier League. He has played for Guyana Amazon Warriors in the 2016 & 2017 season and his performance made him earn a contract in the national team. Also, he has played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League and will join Delhi Capitals in the 2020 edition of the League.
Shimron Hetmyer was a key member of the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League 2024. Hetmyer made his Indian Premier League debut with the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in 2019. He was bought by the Delhi Capitals in 2020 for INR 7.75 crores. He was bought by the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2022 Auction.

Shimron Hetmyer made his ODI debut against New Zealand cricket team at Whangarei on 20 December 2017. He scored 29 runs off 42 balls in the match and the Black Caps emerged victorious at the end of the match. However, he went on to be a consistent scorer for West Indies and became the fourth fastest West Indian to reach 1000 ODI runs in 29 innings. He has scored 5 centuries and 4 half-centuries in 40 innings so far.
He hit his first ODI century on March 6, 2018, at the Old Hararians in Harare, while batting against the United Arab Emirates in the 2018 Cricket World Cup Qualifier. Hetmyer received the award for man of the match as the West Indies triumphed by a score of sixty runs.
Hetmyer achieved the fastest ever century by a West Indies batsman against England in an ODI match in February 2019, taking just 82 balls to reach the century.
He was included in the West Indies team for the 2019 Cricket World Cup in April 2019. He was recognized by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as one of five promising young players making their Cricket World Cup debut.
