GT 2023 Squad - Players to watch out
#1 Hardik Pandya
The Indian all-rounder has been playing in the form of his life since taking the charge of the Titans last year. Hardik gives the team stability in the middle order and provides the even balance while rolling a few overs with the ball. It shouldn't be a matter of surprise if Hardik decides to bowl in the powerplay overs in the upcoming season.
#2 Rashid Khan
The Afghanistan leg-spinner has the tendency to turn the course of the game with his sharp turn. He did the same thing for Titans in their first season what he did for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the previous five seasons. But the finisher's role Rashid adopted here was remarkable to watch. He was the best economical bowler for the champions last season without any dispute and will be the go-to man to find breakthroughs.
#3 Shubman Gill
The prodigious batter has made giant strides in international cricket to cement his position as the opener of Indian team across formats. Within two and a half months, Gill posted a three-figure score in each format, including a double-ton in the ODIs. He missed on a 100 against Punjab Kings by four runs and will aim to accomplish the task of accomplishing maiden IPL century this season.
#4 David Miller
The calm and composed David Miller has gone through a massive transition period in white-ball cricket for the Proteas. But not to forget that the stepping stone was taken at Titans. Miller had lost his mojo in the IPL after getting released by Punjab in 2020 and couldn't find enough games for Rajasthan Royals in two seasons. However, the left-hander returned back to his best and justified the tag of finisher under Hardik with 481 runs in 16 innings, which was his best performance in IPL in 11 seasons.
#5. Mohammed Shami
Shami set the tone for Gujarat Titans with the wickets of KL Rahul, Quinton de Kock and Manish Pandey in the powerplay against LSG in their first-ever game in the IPL. With his experience, he provides the impetus to the team in the bowling department. His job this year would be to get early wickets and contain runs in the death overs. He was the highest wicket-taker for the team last year but will aim to end as the tournament's most wicket-taker in the forthcoming season.
