Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore joined a coaching camp near his house at the age of 10 and soon started playing at the district level. But, his plan was to quit cricket after finishing his schooling. After completing his 12th, he joined an engineering college but soon realized that he should pursue cricket as a career. So, Sai Kishore dropped out of the college just after two months of joining and started focusing on cricket only and the rest as they is history.
Sai Kishore is a great prospect for spin bowling. His economical spells is one of the key features of the towering bowler’s vast skillset.
Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore Domestic Career
Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore made his List A debut for Tamil Nadu in the 2016–17 Vijay Hazare Trophy on March 12, 2017. A year later, the left-arm spinner made his first-class debut for Tamil Nadu in the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy on October 14, 2017. Sai Kishore was quick to learn the ropes and in the 2018-19 Ranji season emerged as the leading wicket-taker for Tamil Nadu with 22 dismissals in six matches.
The young left-arm spinner had a brilliant domestic season in 2019-20 and has consistently performed in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL). He finished as the highest wicket-taker in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2019-20 as Tamil Nadu finished runners-up, picking up 20 wickets in 12 matches, at an excellent economy rate of 4.63.
Sai Kishore was part of the victorious Tamil Nadu squad that won back-to-back Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophies in 2021. In the SMAT 2020-21, he was economical with the ball, returning with figures of none for 11 at an economy of just 2.75, including a maiden. In the SMAT 2021-22, Sai Kishore was excellent with the ball as he returned with figures of 4-0-12-3 at an economy of 4.
Sai Kishore was part of the playing XI in the Vijay Hazare 2021-22 final against Himachal Pradesh. He was sent at no.3 to bat and scored 18 runs. With the ball, he was expensive and could only pick up a solitary wicket as Tamil Nadu finished as runners-up.
In the Ranji Trophy 2023-24 season, he became the leading wicket-taker of the tournament with 53 wickets in 15 innings at an average of 18.52. He also became the third bowler from Tamil Nadu to pick 50+ wickets in the same edition of the Ranji Trophy after S Venkataraghavan and Aashish Kapoor.

Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore after being on the fringes of the IPL finally landed the opportunity to play for one of the biggest T20 franchises on the planet. Sai Kishore was snaffled up by Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2020 auction for INR. 20 lakhs. However, given the number of quality spinners that the Super Kings possessed, Sai Kishore never got an opportunity to make his IPL debut with his home franchise.
Sai Kishore was bought by the newly inducted Gujarat Titans for INR 3 crores in the IPL 2022 mega auction. He made his IPL debut against Lucknow Super Giants and was impressive on debut as he picked up two wickets. He was part of the playing XI in the final of IPL 2022 and won the IPL in their maiden campaign.
After not getting a chance to play in IPL 2023, he got to play in IPL 2024. In the five games he played, Sai Kishore picked up 7 wickets at an average of 19.57, including career-best figures of 4/33 against Punjab Kings.

Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore made his international debut in the much-coveted Asian Games. He is yet to find a spot in the national squad amidst stiff competition.
Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore T20I Career
Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore made his T20I debut against Nepal in the first quarterfinal of the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. He picked up his maiden international wicket in the form of opener Kushal Bhurtel and finished with figures of 4/25.
He was once again impressive and economical with the ball in the semifinal against Bangladesh as he returned with figures of 4-0-12-3. Sai Kishore was part of the victorious Indian squad that scripted history by winning a gold medal for the Indian contingent in the Asian Games 2023.
Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore Captaincy
Ahead of the Ranji Trophy 2023-24 season, Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore was appointed as the skipper of Tamil Nadu. He led the state from the front by topping the bowling charts and entering the semifinal. However, he was scrutinized by the Tamil Nadu coach Sulakshan Kulkarni for the semifinal loss against Mumbai after the latter had opted to bat first in bowling-friendly conditions, despite him picking up a five-wicket haul.
In TNPL 2024, Sai Kishore was appointed as the skipper of IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans as a replacement for the injured Vijay Shankar.
