The Indian Women's Cricket Team squad for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2023 will be led by the experienced Harmanpreet Kaur, with the ever-so consistent opener Smriti Mandhana to serve as her deputy.
India's 15-member squad is a good mix of youth and experience, and several multi-dimensional players. Veteran pacer Shikha Pandey returns to the squad after an extended hiatus. Her presence will bolster the seam attack, which boasts of the ever-so impressive Renuka Singh Thakur, rookie left-arm seamer Anjali Sarvani and all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar.
Deepti Sharma, Rajeshwari Gayakwad and Radha Yadav will lead the spin attack while the leg-spin of Devika Vaidya gives India another option.
In the batting department, once again the onus will be on the experienced trio of Smriti Mandhana, Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues, while keeper Richa Ghosh and opener Shefali Verma will need to do the heavy lifting when it comes to power hitting.
India will open their campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on Feb 12. They will then face the West Indies on Feb 15 before locking horns with England and Ireland Women on 18th and 20th.
