The 29th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 will see hosts India lock horns with defending champions England at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.
This is set to be a mouth-watering affair between two sides which are loaded in abundance with ammunition in all facets of the game.
On this note, here's a look at India vs England Head-to-Head record in ODIs & at the ICC Cricket World Cup:
India vs England Head to Head Record - ODIs
India and England have locked horns 106 times in ODI cricket, with the Men in Blue leading the ledger 57-44.
Both cricket nations have played some very memorable games in this format over the years. From India's epic Natwest Trophy triumph at Lord's in 2002 to Andrew Flintoff removing his shirt at Wankhede; from Sunil Gavaskar's painstaking knock in 1975 WC to Graham Gooch's sweep-masterclass in 1987; from Ashish Nehra's demolition job in Durban in 2003 to Robin Uthappa's famous last-over finish at the Oval in 2007 to the recent run-fests, the rivalry has kept on delivering.

India vs England Head to Head Record - ODI World Cup
India and England have met 8 times at the ICC Cricket World Cup, with the 'Three Lions' coming out trumps on 4 instances.
Their first meeting at the WC proved to be controversial one thanks to a painstaking knock from Sunil Gavaskar (36* off 174) during India's run-chase of 335.
India scripted a major heist in 1983 as they thumped hosts England in the semi-final by 6 wickets to book their date with defending champions West Indies for the Lord's final.
England returned the favour in the 1987 semi-final as Graham Gooch swept the defending champions out of their own party in front of a packed crowd at the Wankhede.
India went on to lose another close affair in 1992 (by 9 runs), before staging a brilliant redemption in 1999 as they dumped hosts England out of the tournament via a 63-run win in Birmingham.
The 2003 WC encounter proved to be a one-sided affair as Ashish Nehra ran through the English batting-unit in helpful conditions in Durban to script an 82-run heist.
But, arguably, the best India vs England WC encounter took place in 2011, where after 8 hours of back and forth, nothing could separate both sides. The match was glittered by amazing centuries from Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar (120 off 115) and English skipper Andrew Strauss (158 off 145) and a sensational spell of reverse-swing bowling from Zaheer Khan, and, as Ravi Shastri said in the end, "no side deserved to lose the game"
The 2019 encounter proved to be an anti-climatic affair thanks to the lack of intent from MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav, and England's power-packed batting display.
