Sunrisers Hyderabad Schedule IPL 2024 Details
The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) finished last on the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 points table. They had a forgettable campaign, winning just four of their 14 league games under the leadership of Aiden Markram.
However, the upcoming season will instill a new hope among the Orange Army, who will eye their second IPL title in the 17th edition of the tournament. They will be desperate to commence their IPL 2024 season positively but have some tough games right at the start of their campaign.
Sunrisers Hyderabad will play their maiden IPL 2024 match against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the iconic Eden Gardens on March 23. SRH doesn't have a great record while playing in Kolkata, having won only three of their nine IPL matches at the venue. However, with the strong team they have, SRH will be looking to better the head-to-head record.
SRH’s second IPL 2024 match will their first home game of the season. The Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium will host the Mumbai Indians (MI) in a night game on March 27.
Following their clash against MI, Hyderabad will be playing the two finalists of IPL 2023. They will travel to Ahmedabad for a match against the Gujarat Titans (March 31) before locking horns against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Hyderabad on April 05.
Their remaining home games will take place on April 25 (vs. RCB), May 02 (vs. RR), May 08 (vs. LSG), May 16 (vs. GT), and May 19 (vs. PBKS).
The away fixtures, on the other hand, will be staged on April 09 (vs. PBKS), April 15 (vs. RCB), April 20 (vs. DC), and May 06 (vs. MI).
Sunrisers Hyderabad IPL 2024 Squad Details
Despite their on-field struggles last season, SRH had a wonderful IPL 2024 mini-auction. Securing players like Travis Head and Wanindu Hasaranga at bargain prices was a major win for Hyderabad. However, they splurged a record-breaking INR 20.50 crore on Pat Cummins, making him the second-costliest player in the IPL's history. The Australian pacer was also appointed SRH skipper ahead of IPL 2024.
Apart from this, SRH traded Mayank Dagar to RCB for his existing fee of 1.80 crore. In return, the Orange Army traded in Shahbaz Ahmed from RCB for 2.40 crore.
