Once part of the Web.com Tour, the Corales Puntacana Championship is a PGA Tour event held in the Dominican Republic. It was performed for the first time in 2016 at Puntacana Resort and Club on the east coast of the province of La Altagracia.
Beginning in March 2018, the event moved from being a Web.com Tour stop for two years to a PGA Tour alternative event in Texas next to the WGC Match Play. The first PGA Tour tournament to be hosted in the Dominican Republic offers prizes akin to other non-primary events: a two-year tour exemption, 24 OWGR points, and 300 FedEx Cup points for the winner, but no Masters Tournament invitation. The first event occurred in early June 2016 and was rescheduled for early May 2017.
The 2020 tournament was rescheduled for September as part of the 2020–21 PGA Tour season because of the COVID-19 epidemic. Additionally, it was given full FedEx Cup point event status, and the victor was invited to the Masters Tournament in 2021.
Corales Puntacana Championship 2024 History
Every year, the PGA Tour's Corales Puntacana Championship is held at the Puntacana Resort and Club in the Dominican Republic. Wallace defeated Nicolai Hojgaard by one stroke with a 19-under-par total. In the 2024 season, the Corales Puntacana Championship was won by 2014 FedEx Cup winner Billy Horschel, defeating Wesley Bryan by two shots.
