About T20 WC Warm-up
Ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, there will be eight warm-up matches involving all teams that have directly qualified for the Super 12 stage. There are 16 T20 World Cup 2021 teams. Eight teams have been placed in the qualifying round, while the other have already received a spot in the Super 12s.
The eight nations in the qualifying round, Oman, Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Namibia, Holland, Ireland and Scotland will play a few T20Is before the ICC T20 World Cup gets underway. Soon after the qualifying round gets underway, the warm-up matches for the eight nations already placed in Super 12s will start.
ICC T20 World Cup began in the year 2007. Like every ICC tournament, the international cricket-governing body organizes a set of warm-up matches for the teams so they have enough match practice in the host country before the tournament begins.
This year, India, Australia, Afghanistan, England, Pakistan, New Zealand, South Africa and West Indies will be in action during the warm-up games.
