About IND vs SA

South Africa will visit India for six white-ball matches later this year. The Proteas toured India earlier this year for a five-match T20I series. That series ended in a 2-2 draw, with the fifth T20I being abandoned due to rain.

In the upcoming tour of India vs South Africa 2022, they will play three T20Is and three ODIs. Unlike the previous tour, India is unlikely to play with a second-string squad for this series. Rishabh Pant captained India in the absence of big guns earlier this year, but considering that the ICC T20 World Cup will happen a month after the series against South Africa, the BCCI will be keen to field a full-strength squad.

History

Bilateral cricket has struggled for relevancy in the year 2022. As mentioned ahead, South Africa will visit India for the second time in the same year.

The significance of the upcoming series is much higher because it will help both India and South Africa test out their final squads before the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.

India vs South Africa 2022 Format

The bilateral series between India and South Africa will be played in two formats. The India vs South Africa schedule will start with a three-match T20I series from September 28 to October 4, followed by a three-match ODI series from October 6 to 11.

The T20I series will feature matches in the T20 format, while the ODI series will follow the 50-over format.

India vs South Africa 2022 Venues

Six different stadiums will host the six matches during South Africa’s tour of India. The three T20Is will take place at Greenfield Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram, Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati and Holkar Stadium in Indore.

The three ODI matches will take place at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, JSCA Stadium in Ranchi and Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
