About IND vs SL
Sri Lanka men’s cricket team will tour to India at the start of January 2023 for the limited-overs bilateral series to mark their first cricket task in the new year. India and Sri Lanka will play three T20 International matches and as many One Day International fixtures.
The Indian team will come straight away from Bangladesh after a nearly month-long tour, while Sri Lanka played last against Afghanistan in a three-match ODI series in November. Both teams last played a bilateral series in February-March 2021 where India won both the T20I (3-0) and Test (2-0) series in a convincing manner.
The T20I series would moreover be for a warm-up time but the real focus will be on the ODI series as both teams intend to start preparing for the 2023 World Cup scheduled in the October-November period in India.
T20I series
There will be three T20I matches between India and Sri Lanka scheduled to be held in the states of Maharashtra and Gujarat. The first T20I will take place on January 3 in Mumbai followed by the second game in Pune. The last match of the series will be played in Rajkot. India vs Sri LankaT20I series is one of the much-awaited series for Indian cricket fans at the beginning of the year 2023.
India and Sri Lanka have played each other in the shortest format on 26 instances. The Men in Blue have the edge over their Asian counterparts with 17 wins to Sri Lanka’s eight with one match ended without producing any result. This would be the 10th bilateral T20I series between India and Sri Lanka, their sixth three-match series.

ODI series
The three ODI matches between India and Sri Lanka will follow up shortly after the conclusion of the T20Is. This would be the first ODI series for both teams in their roadmap of the 50-over World Cup at the end of the year.
India vs Sri Lanka first ODI will kick off on January 10 in Guwahati and the two teams will move to Kolkata to play the second ODI on January 12. The final ODI match will be conducted in Thiruvananthapuram on January 15.
India and Sri Lanka last faced each other in an ODI series in July 2021 when Shikhar Dhawan led a second-string squad to the island nation and won 2-1. The two sides would be competing in their 20th bilateral ODI series overall.
Both teams have clashed in 162 ODI matches with India again here holding a better head-to-head record with 93 wins to Sri Lanka’s 57. 11 matches ended without any appropriate results.

Venues
The Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai will host the first T20I between India and Sri Lanka. Both teams will move to Pune to play the second match at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium. The Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium will stage the last game of the three-match series.
The first ODI match is scheduled to be played at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. The second match will be followed at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.
