In 2017, Rory McIlroy's contract with Nike was extended for ten years and was worth $100 million, according to the Telegraph.

The worth of Rory McIlroy's initial 10-year contract with Nike in 2013 was not released. However, the Irish Independent reported that he would earn 160 million euros by the end of the deal. According to the Telegraph, a five-year first agreement that included all equipment and head-to-toe branding was valued at $20 million annually, with a further five-year option.

According to the BBC, his performance will increase Nike's profile and will lead to more profits. Sports business expert and editor of SportsPro magazine, David Cushnan, said, "There will be a sound business case behind the numbers: 'Rory will help us sell x amount of equipment and clothing.'" A guaranteed base-level income is also factored in to account for ranking fluctuations brought on by injury or a decline in form. McIlroy stated, “I’ve loved this company since I was a kid. I’m really happy to continue this journey with Nike.”

As per the Telegraph, the McIlroy-Nike agreement was extended for another ten years for clothing valued at $100 million after Nike stopped producing golf equipment in 2017. Later, McIlroy secured a $100 million contract with TaylorMade for equipment (via The Guardian). According to Forbes, he earned $45 million a year from endorsements, which included deals with Omega, Optum, TaylorMade, and Workday, along with Nike.
