Heather Knight (England Captain): Tammy and Wyatt at the top were outstanding with the bat. The pitch was good and it got better under the lights actually. With the ball, we just missed our lengths, and McGrath batting like that just made it hard for us to set the field right for her.
Meg Lanning (Australia Captain): The pitch was pretty hard to defend on so it was probably a par score. McGrath was great with the ball getting those wickets in the death overs as we were actually looking at 20-30 more runs. Watching McGrath bat from the other end was quite intimidating as well. It was a good wicket to bat on and it was nice to get some runs today.
Tahlia McGrath (Player of the match): It was a lot of fun. This is my home state. I was looking forward to this fixture and getting us off to a winning start. A bit of disjointed preparation. Bubble life is tough. We were looking forward to playing some cricket and getting out of the hotel. It was a really nice wicket out there. Dani Wyatt beautifully. We were just trying to restrict her. While batting, it was skidding on nicely. So, we were just looking to play straight and make the most of that.
McGrath went on reach her maiden T20I half-century and showed no signs of stopping. Meg supporting her from the other end played her part too and made this chase quite a simple one for Australia in the end. The duo stitched an unbroken 144 runs partnership to get Australia across the line with 3 overs to spare.
McGrath coming in to bat next came to the rescue once again for Australia as she kept the score moving alongside Meg and found the boundaries consistently to keep the Australian side on top. England was just not able to slow down that scoring rate.
Coming in to chase, Australia were looking good with their scoring as Alyssa and Meg opened the batting for them found the runs quickly. However, the partnership was broken quickly as Ecclestone got the wicket of Alyssa, and that put pressure on Australia.
Meg puts on the finishing touches and that makes it a record run-chase for Australia. McGrath was the stand-out performer and most certainly should be the player of the match for getting 3 wickets with the ball initially and now playing a 91 run knock and remaining not out.

16.6 Heather Knight to Meg Lanning, FOUR! LANNING FINISHES IT OFF IN STYLE! Tossed up low full toss, Lanning gets down on one knee and sweeps it away into the deep square leg ropes. Australia have made this run chase look like a walk in a park. It's a record chase in T20Is. Australia Women win by 9 wickets and take the first two points in the series.
16.5 Heather Knight to Meg Lanning, FOUR! Flighted delivery outside off-stump, asking for trouble there. Lanning loves the square cut and crunches it past point to find the boundary. That's 3000 T20I runs for Meg Lanning.
