Brisbane Heat beat Adelaide Strikers by 6 runs!

The Heat broke their unbroken losing record of eight consecutive matches with this positive result and they will be extremely happy with themselves. The Strikers gave them tough competition and tried to take the game till the last over, but the fall of wickets at regular intervals prevented that from happening.

Michael Neser and Mark Steketee did extremely well with the ball, picking up two and four wickets respectively. They bowled in decent areas and ensured that the batters of the Strikers did not get too much of room to free their arms. This worked out well for them today.

However, it was Sam Billings' top knock earlier in the day that set up the win for the Heat. For the Strikers, Thomas Kelly and Colin de Grandhomme tried their best to take them close to the total that they were chasing, and were aided in part by wicketkeeper batter Harry Nielsen. but in the end, the result got away from them.

Both these sides will take a lot of confidence from this result, and we can expect them to continue into the competition with a positive frame of mind.

Short and into the surface on middle and leg, Siddle tries to swivel in the crease and pull this away over the deep midwicket fence but does not time it too well and gets a TOP EDGE that goes over the head of the keeper for a MAXIMUM! However, it serves little purpose as the Heat have won the match. This is their first win after eight consecutive losses.
