Right then, this is Prakhar and myself (Rishab) singing off. Total domination from Fortune Barishal in the first game of the day. Do hang around as we have the second game between Khulna Tigers and Sylhet Sunrisers coming your way shortly. Have a great day!
Fortune Barishal are on an unbeaten run with four wins in a row now. They have simply been brilliant with both bat and ball and this game was another example of their domination. Batting first, they did a decent job to get to a good total on the board, which eventually proved to be way more than enough anyway. With the ball, they started well picking early wickets to build the pressure on the Victorians.
The Comilla Victorians simply failed to recover at any stage in the game as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals and failed to build partnerships as well. Their batters could not apply themselves and they will be disappointed with this loss. Comilla Victorians do have some thinking to do as far as their batting is concerned and with Faf missing out today, it made it even difficult for them as they were all but bowled out.
A good all-round game for skipper Shakib Al Hasan who led Barishal from the front and he should definitely be pleased with his efforts and those from the rest of the team as well. They are building on the momentum at the right time now and playing some wonderful cricket. They were on the money with the ball and hardly gave the opponents anything to play with, absolutely dominating proceedings in the second half of this contest.
Fortune Barishal also move to the top of the table with this convincing victory over Comilla Victorians. That is all we have for you from the first game of the day!
Imrul Kayes: I thought it was chaseable but our batters did not get good starts. I think Shakib batted really well and Barishal played good cricket as well. We did well to pull things back with the ball but we failed to click as a batting unit.
Shakib Al Hasan, Winning captain and Player of the Match: We are defending very well and credit goes to all the bowlers. We are not too short with the scoring also. 165-170 will be very good with the bowling we have. We need to make sure that we get more runs at the end. It's a matter of two-three boundaries. We have a capable team and I am hopeful that we will do it.
Done and dusted with that. Fortune Barishal have done it rather comfortably, dominant as they march to the top of the table and their fourth straight win in the season as well. A poor batting effort from the Victorians as they end up losing this game by 32 runs in the end!
