Wow, what a game we have witnessed. This has been an exhibition of the highest class when it comes to power-hitting. The innings was off to a good start with Mohammad Hafeez scoring 17 off the first over, but he couldn't carry on as he was dismissed soon. Tom Banton played a nothing shot and lost his leg stump while Will Smeed was done in for lack of bounce. Ravi Bopara couldn't do much damage and was dismissed cheaply, having the team reeling at 57/4.
Amidst all this chaos, Yusuf Pathan stood at the other end and watched how everything was happening. He took a cue from his past self as he waited for the right opportunity and it came in the form of a floating powerplay. He smoked Mohammad Amir to each and every corner of the park and from then on it was no looking back. He was well-assisted by Mushfiqur Rahim and single-handedly pulled off a heist, helping his team to go to the finals.
It was a poor bowling performance from the Durban Qalandars. Tayyab Abbas and Daryn Dupavillon were the only bowlers to pick up wickets alongside Tendai Chatara but lacked any support from the other bowlers. Mohammad Amir and Brad Evans were expensive and ended up conceding way too many runs. They will have a chance to redeem themselves in Qualifier 2 which will be played later today.
