Commentary

Well, that's all we have from this game. A bit of a break for both sides before the Test series gets underway. After passing the test in the shortest format, South Africa will have the big Bazball test to pass in that series. We for one, cannot wait. That's it for now though, folks. So, South Africa receives the trophy after sealing the series 2-1. It was well-fought series between two formidable sides but it's the visitors who have come out on top. Even without their captain, South Africa responded strongly after losing the first game and have roared back to seal the deal. As for England, they still haven't won a T20 series this year. Leading into the World Cup, it's testing times for Jos Buttler and Matthew Mott.

David Miller (South African captain): It's a privilege to get 100 caps with your country and to top it off today is perfect. Rille and Reeza batted terrifically in the front and got us off to a good start. The batters from there did well to carry on the intent. (The fielding) We spoke about that and addressed it to get it sorted in the next two games. We pride ourselves on that. (Stubbs) He's a special player and we have seen what he can do in the domestic games. What he did the other night was special. It's difficult at the World Cup with so many good teams but the process we've taken has been great. We've grown leaps and bounds. The character the guys have shown has been brilliant.

Jos Buttler (England Captain): I thought that was a really good score on the board. But we had confidence in our group and we like to challenge ourselves with the bat. But we never got going and just the way we played, it was disappointing. They bowled well after setting a good score on the board and we just couldn't get going. It's a great realization for us as to where we are. We haven't performed as well as we'd have liked and it's a good time for us to reflect as a team and see how we can bounce back. We've gone through a change as a team as well which is fine. We've gone through a change in leadership and personnel. We have some time now to go away and reflect on our performances ahead of the big event (the World Cup). (10 T20s to go ahead of the World Cup. Are they enough to get back on track) I hope so - any time there's a World Cup you're very excited. There are three T20s in Australia before the World Cup and that's the time you really have to settle as a team.

Reeza Hendricks is the Player of the Series for South Africa. Here is what he has to say: All in all a good series for us. Every time you step on the field, you want to score runs. There's plenty of depth in the squad and the competition is massive. So, whenever you step onto the field you want to do well and stamp your mark on the team. It was a competitive score. it wasn't easy up front, and they bowled really well but we got partnerships together and got to a good score. (Bristol) That's a performance we want to forget about.

Tabraiz Shamsi is the Player of the Match for his spectacular spell of 5/24. Here's what he has to say: I really enjoyed myself today. Huge credit to the batters - they put up an above-par score for us to defend. The guys who bowled before me were unbelievable. The foundation was laid; I reaped the rewards today but that's the way it is. If I put it lightly it was a bit of a pounding (in Bristol). But the biggest thing I keep in mind is to bounce back. Thankfully it paid off after that first game. My wife told me today that she wanted four wickets from me so it was extra special.

Moeen Ali is the Player of the Summer for a string of consistent all-round displays. Here's what he has to say: It's been decent. I think I've been playing well in T20s for a while now. Obviously disappointing for the team and that's what matters. I really enjoyed batting there (in Bristol) - it was nice and small for someone like myself. I think Jos as a captain wants us to take responsibility as guys who've been playing for a while. My role in the side is that of a floater - to go up and down the order and express myself. I've played for Chennai at the top of the order as well and have done decently well.

South Africa have sealed the deal in commanding fashion. After being blown away at Bristol, they've roared back into the series to win the next two games and seal the series. England have simply been blown away in this third T20I, looking like a disjointed unit on most occasions.

That in most parts sums up their batting performance today as well. The two openers were dismissed in the powerplay and it was all downhill from thereon. The middle order was nonexistent barring Jonny Bairstow, who was left stranded until the end.

Not much to talk about that England batting performance, really. It's a sorry-looking scoreboard, not what you want to see in a series decider. As far as South Africa are concerned, Tabraiz Shamsi was the star of the show.

After Lungi Ngidi became the first South African to take a fifer in T20Is, Shamsi followed his footsteps in this encounter to seal the deal for his side. Nortje, Ngidi and Maharaj were tidy as ever. Phehlukwayo did well to hold his own, while Markram proved he's a handy bowling option too.

Plenty of positives for the Proteas as they beat England in their own backyard. They look like a proper unit in the build-up to the upcoming T20 World Cup. As far as England are concerned, it might be a matter of going back to the drawing board. Lots to assess from this series. Stick around for what the captains have to say.

16.4 Keshav Maharaj to Jonny Bairstow, SKIED HIGH...AND HOLES OUT! South Africa complete the annihilation! It's been a dominant display of the highest order by the visitors! Flighted into a length on off stump and Bairstow attempts another slog-sweep. The length wasn't there for the shot though as he shanks it a mile into the sky before Miller runs forward from deep mid-wicket and settles underneath it with reverse-cupped palms as he pouches one of the easiest catches he's taken in his career. South Africa win by 90 runs and take the series 2-1!
