Heather Knight (captain, England): Pleased. The way we controlled them in the middle overs and while it was a tricky chase, we did well to control it. Wyatt and Sciver Brunt did a fine job. We backed up what we did the other night. Sophie was back to her best and got some extra bounce as well. Happy with the energy on the field. You could see her getting frustrated out there, she is not used to scoring at a 100-strike rate but you need to bat like these in such conditions. Quite a big break, time to leave for Dubai and focus after a few days off.
Laura Wolvaardt (South Africa captain): Very disappointed, ten to twenty runs more with the bat would've been interesting, we didn't take our chances too either but I think the bowlers bowled quite well. I didn't feel it was as slow as it was in the first couple of games, when we started batting, we were talking about 140 run mark, just had that period after powerplay where we lost our way in the. Don't think you can ask for much more the new ball. Spinners should've had more control, it's difficult to set fields to such great batters. Must win games for us, both of could be tough for us in these conditions and we should bring our A game.
Sophie Ecclestone is the Player of the Match! Here's what she has to say: Quite excited to break the records. Keep it simple and try to enjoy while I play, keep the smile on my face. It's always great to do well against the world's best. Happy to get Kappy's wicket. Quite biased, all high class players, we work as a unit. Conditions are so different, we've had adapted well. Danny Wyatt and Nat Sciver played brilliantly.
England broke their duck of losing games against South Africa and have registered their first win in the T20 World Cups. While the wounds of the loss in the semifinals are still fresh, this win helps it soothe it a little bit.
125 looked like an easy chase but Maia Bouchier lost her wicket early. Alice Capsey added some impetus in the middle but departed after a short and sweet knock. Danielle Wyatt-Hodge and Nat Sciver-Brunt batted beautifully in the middle as they pair added 50 runs for the third wicket. Wyatt-Hodge departed soon after before Sciver-Brunt did a fine job of ending the chase and helping England add another win to their campaign.
South Africa did a good job but wickets were hard to come by for them. Marizanne Kapp bowled two maidens in the powerplay and picked up a wicket, with Mlaba and Nadine de Klerk chipping in with a wicket each. The other bowlers also did a fine job but Sinalo Jafta was erroneous behind the sticks, letting byes quite easily.
Let us now go down to hear what the Player of the Match and the skippers have to say
19.2 Ayabonga Khaka to Nat Sciver-Brunt, FOUR! GAME, SET AND MATCH! Sciver-Brunt finishes off in style, England make two in two and have sent a message to the rest of the teams in this T20 World Cup. Length delivery outside the off-stump, Sciver-Brunt goes inside out and lofted it beautifully over the infield and it runs away to find the ropes as England seal the game with four balls to spare.
19.1 Ayabonga Khaka to Nat Sciver-Brunt, OH! Good start from Khaka, starts off with a dot. Dips a full delivery on the stumps, Sciver-Brunt drilled it straight back to the bowler.
One over remains, Four runs to win. Nat Sciver-Brunt is on strike, and Ayobonga Khaka is to bowl the final over
