England XI beat Malta by 8 wickets!

Sam Young and Dan Lincoln ensured that England XI faced no problems whatsoever in chasing these runs down. As we had mentioned earlier, this total would never have bothered the English side, and they practically took the Maltese to the cleaners.

The latter could not really bowl in good areas and were punished by the English batters with massive strokes out of the park. Malta's fielding let them down as well, with their fielders often resorting to dropping catches and letting the English batters run away scot-free.

The Maltese will hope that they can somehow manage to pick themselves up for next year's competition as England XI have now qualified to play the Group E final, where Switzerland await them. Malta, however, can be extremely proud of the fact that they managed to come this far in this tournament.

6.2 Imran Ameer to David Scott, SIX! Game, set, match - the England XI will have a shot at vengeance as they now face Switzerland in the final! Full, dished up in the slot, Scott, down on one knee, mows this one into the bushes at mid wicket past the hoardings. The England XI take the honours by 8 wickets!
