If we begin by talking about the sizes of the ground, straight it's a 75m distance which will take quite the effort from the batters and we are in the absolute middle of the pitch square, so it is an equal 67m on either side. There's a bit of grass here. On the good length area, there's a bit of grass that is rolled in. So, we can expect this one to play a bit better than the last four games that have been played here. Expect turn and pace, enough for the bowlers to trouble the batters every once in a while, says Pommie Mbangwa.

Imran Tahir, Guyana Amazon Warriors captain : Good game, our team batted well, they set-up the win with an amazing score. Hetmyer and Hope did really well when they were together, credit to Azam as well who gave us a good start. It was slightly challenging with the ball, dew set in after 12 overs and made things hard, which explains why we really conceded a few runs at the end. Bowling with the wet ball was a concern, but Moeen, Motie and even Junior Sinclair, he has bowled well when given a chance, nice to lead this team. Junior was not well later. This pitch did offer a bit of spin, but was nice to see how our batters played. They won the match for us cause the pitch had something in it for the bowlers to exploit. He played really well (on David Miller), we know what he can do, congrats on his 500th T20 game, that is a special achievement and we know he's a class player. He was also a bit lucky that dew set in, Sinclair was our match-up against him, I wanted to bowl him, but he got injured. Shamar Joseph had a flu and that's the reason he missed out on tonight's game.

Rovman Powell, Barbados Royals captain : Credit to be given to the Guyanaese, they came out firing all guns and outplayed us today, the crowd support was tremendous. To play 500 games, you need to be doing something right (on David Miller). He's a very important player not just for South Africa, but across the leagues around the world. We saw the value that he brings today as well, what he did for us at the end. To find some form going into the playoffs is good. He did not have a great season before today so we are even more confident now of him. Winning does bring confidence to the group, but this loss doesn't mean it's down. It's part of the process. We have a few plans in place, we know the type of team we'll play in the play-offs, the strategies that need to be watertight for us and the real cricket starts next week, we'll be ready for that.

Shai Hope is the Player of the Match, here is what he had to say: I will say the runs on the board. I had a different game plan today. Not much has changed. Pretty happy to get the runs today. I will say there is a big difference. It's about the intent and understanding the situation and trying to be up for the challenge (speaking on his challenge against Keshav Maharaj). I think they go hand in hand. If you have to best, you have to be mentally strong. Batting is tough in these conditions. It's about finding the gaps and ticking the boxes and far as the skill set is concerned during the nets. Me and Hetmyer complement each other well. He makes my job easier and if we can continue like this, we can hopefully go all the way.

It was a slow start for Royals, pegged back with the early loss of Kadeem. 3 spinners were used to begin for GAW. Pretorius became the 4th bowler in the 4th over for Guyana and he began with a wicket first ball, as his side made early inroads.

Gurbaz, in conversation with the commentary team Darren Ganga and Danny Morrison, spoke about how the surface was not the easiest when it came to batting. The brilliance of Hope and Hetmyer really pushed their score to an above average one and we witnessed the struggles of Royals batters in the initial overs.

QDK got to 400 runs for this season, the leading run scorer among all sides and his team required him to come up with another emphatic batting performance for the Royals. They were 21 for 2 after 4 overs and QDK doubled the team score in a single over with 2 fours and 2 sixes off a Kevin Sinclair over.

But once QDK was dismissed, you always knew that it would be a bridge too far to cross. Tahir was amongst the wickets with his iconic running celebration on display. Just 3 batters from the Barbados team have more than 100 runs in this season so the over reliance on QDK is becoming evident. Wickets kept tumbling regularly. There were stumpings down the leg side and everything that could possibly go wrong for the Royals, did go wrong.

Romario Shepherd was the 2nd pacer for GAW tonight and he bowled his first over in the 16th over. He added to the Guyanese celebration with the penultimate wicket of the match. Miller hit some boundaries in his 500th T20 to ensure that the margin of lose isn't as embarrassing as it could have got, had it not been for his lusty shots at the end.
