A performance that the Tiruppur Tamizhans will be really proud of. Two wins in as many games now and two clinical victories at that after the start they had. They're on a bit of a roll now but the same cannot be said about Ba11sy Trichy, for whom you can't help but fear that their campaign is all but over. Their sorry season continues to hit one roadblock after another and it's going to take something incredible for them to turn things around.
NS Chaturved (iDream Tiruppur Tamizhans captain): (On Sai Kishore's promotion) Credit goes completely to the coach. Even as we all know his batting ability, it was the coach's call to send him at number 3. He has worked really hard and he's on par with many hitters. We sent him up with that belief and he showcased that. (On Anirudh batting at 5) We felt that a left-right pair would disrupt them at that stage so we sent him up. He batted really well and so did Vijay Shankar. Credit to the ground staff for producing some amazing wickets. That's why you can see the results. The focus is only on winning. The bowlers won us the last game, today it was the batters. If both departments combine in the coming games I'm sure the net run-rate will also improve.
Ganga Sridhar Raju (Ba11sy Trichy captain): We definitely gave away 20-25 runs too many. A 175 chase would have kept us in but we gave away too many. We played too many dot balls in the middle-overs. We could have rotated strike a lot more and picked up the twos and scored the odd boundary. In between there were too many dot balls. When that happens while chasing 200-plus, it becomes very tough. I decided to back my bowlers at the toss. We were batting first in the last three games and we needed a change today.
P Bhuvaneswaran is the Player of the Match once again. Here's what he has to say: I didn't plan anything. We just looked to bowl dot balls and we got wickets as a result. The ball swung initially and once you hit those hard lengths it was tough. You just have to approach it positively, that's all. I like to attack upfront. Very happy (to have the Purple Cap on).
S Ajith Ram (iDream Tiruppur Tamizhans): We are very pleased coming back after another win. We are carrying momentum at the right time and I'm really happy. He has been working really hard off the field and that is giving him success on the field. (On Sai Kishore and Anirudh's batting) As a team we've been preparing very hard so I'm not surprised with their performance. My confidence is very high right now and hopefully I can carry it forward. Anirudh has been having a niggle in his ankle I think but he's fine. (On facing Dindigul Dragons next) They've been playing very good cricket and hopefully we can do well against them.
Match Summary: iDream Tiruppur Tamizhans beat Ba11sy Trichy by 46 runs!
A chase which was never going to be easy and Ba11sy Trichy certainly found out just why. 202 was what they had in front of them thanks to R Sai Kishore and Balchander Anirudh's stunning half-centuries which gave the iDream Tiruppur Tamizhans a superb score to play with. Trichy had to start well and their skipper Ganga Sridhar Raju came out firing on all cylinders to set the tone early on.
He was dismissed very soon though as P Bhuvaneswaran, fresh of a five-wicket haul, landed a double-whammy. Daryl Ferrario and K Rajkumar ensured that Trichy ended the powerplay with 59 against their name though and it seemed as though this chase was on. But then, just like that, it all came apart with the spinners applying the choke and using the grip in the surface to the best possible extent.
Kishore did his bit to great effect but it was S Ajith Ram who stood out beautifully with his nagging lengths and variations in pace. Wickets fell regularly and it was a real crawl through the middle-overs for Trichy, with Antony Dhas in particular looked all at sea. The intent was missing as well with Trichy just not getting a move on and by the time they could try something, it was far too late.
Jafar Jamal may have suffered an injury on the field but it didn't hamper his fighting spirit one bit. He came out swinging for the bleachers towards the back-end of the innings and chipped in with a valiant cameo. It was just not enough though with his colleagues failing to deliver much earlier, resulting in a comprehensive victory for the Tiruppur Tamizhans and consigning Ba11sy Trichy to their fourth loss on the spin. Stick around for the presentation...
The extra delivery may have traveled but it's all but a consolation for Ba11sy Trichy, who have slumped to yet another defeat. The Tiruppur Tamizhans are cooking though - consecutive wins and they're right on track after a clinical performance!

19.6 Ganeshan Periyaswamy to Ragupathy Silambarasan, SIX! TOO LITTLE, TOO LATE! Length delivery at the stumps and Silambarasan picks it up and over the region just behind square quite powerfully. Dumps it over the fence but it doesn't matter. Back-to-back victories for iDream Tiruppur Tamizhans as they wrap up a 46-run win!
