Match summary:
Independents CC win by 8 wickets with 29 balls to spare
Tommy Nightingale 35(10) | Tom Cheater 2/7 (2) Faraaz Abbas 40(15) | Hammadullah Shinwari 1/4 (1)
Blink and you'd miss it - that was how quick the run-chase was! The Independents CC batters walked out with one thing in mind - getting that bonus point. They do so with plenty of time to spare, leapfrogging the Tallinn Stallions in the points table with it. Plenty to ponder for the Stallions - they've simply been blown away, having come into this clash on the back of a thumping win over Crosby.
It was Tom Cheater who laid the foundation early on in the run-chase, smashing 16 off the first 3 deliveries before holing out. Damarell's stay was very short - he was the only batter to miss out on the onslaught. Tommy Nightingale and Nathan Le Tissier went about proceedings rather smoothly, clobbering some ordinary slow bowling out of sight. The fielding from the Stallions left a lot to be desired as well - the game was gone from them as soon as the run rate dropped under a run-a-ball.
5.1 Faraaz Abbas to Nathan Le Tissier, SIX!! And that's the game. Comes around the wicket and bowls in the slot. The captain hits over long on to finish with some flair.
Just one more big hit to get it done for Independents.
