Thanks a lot for joining us here at Sportskeeda for the coverage of this exciting game in the ICC U-19 World Cup game between India and Nepal that the former won quite convincingly. Until next time, take care!
Uday Saharan (India captain): Things are going extremely well for us. All of our players are doing well. Both our batters and bowlers did extremely well. Many congratulations to Nepal- they did extremely well in this tournament. We had planned to bat first in this game and give opportunities to those of our players who did not get much of a chance earlier. We are planning to keep things simple. We have played against South Africa already but we are prepared for the challenge. I am very happy to perform for my team. Avanish is fine, his injury is not that serious.
Dev Khanal (Nepal captain): Playing in the World Cup is a huge honor for us, first of all being the associate nation we've won the qualifier and beating Afghanistan to get into Super Six. Batting 50 overs in most of the games, couple of disappointments in the batting departments. Strike rotation can improve, the boundaries will come if you continue to rotate the strike. I've learnt many things, disappointed with myself, got the starts and couldn't convert them throughout, but will try to improve on that.
Sachin Dhas is the Player of the Match! Here's what he has to say: Feeling good, yesterday the coach told me that I'll be batting higher up the order and I grabbed it with both hands. Uday and I talked a lot, will take till last and finish big. I told my dad that, I'll give him a gift for his birthday today. My role model is Sachin Tendulkar and hence the number 10!
India beat Nepal by 132 runs and qualify for the semifinals!
As things turned out, it proved to be too steep a target for Nepal to chase. Their openers Deepak Bohara and Arjun Kumal got them off to a decent start, and skipper Dev Khanal tried his best to take his team towards the finish line, but it was not easy by any means.
The Indian bowlers, led by left-arm spinner Saumy Pandey, were on top of their game and forced the Nepal batters to remain stuck in their crease for long periods of time.
Nepal's batters appeared as if they had no clue whatsoever to the problems teed off towards them by the Indian bowlers, and paid a heavy price for it.
India remain unbeaten in the tournament, and this win will give a huge boost to both their confidence and net run rate going into the semifinals. For Nepal, a lot of learnings were on offer in this game, and one can only hope that they will be able to emerge the wiser after reflecting on them.
Seldom does one see the last over of a one-day game ending with a front-foot defence, but that is how it has been here! But India have won this game at last!

49.6 Musheer Khan to Durgesh Gupta, THAT IS THAT! India seal their spot in the semi-finals. Gupta solid again as he leans and defends the length delivery into the off-side. Nepal denies India to wrap things up, but India will march into the knockout stages of the World Cup!
49.5 Musheer Khan to Durgesh Gupta, angled the length delivery on the off-stump. Gupta is happy to defend this one to short cover.
49.4 Musheer Khan to Durgesh Gupta, good length on the off-stump, Gupta presses and defends.
