That will be all! Good night and we wish you a happy new year from all of us here at Sportskeeda. Here is Abhishek signing off alongside Pradeep. Hope you enjoyed our commentary of the game.
Yash Dhull (India U19 captain): As a team, we played good. We did well as a team and we would do well in the World Cup. We have to stay positive. The team spirit was good and all were doing nicely. This resulted in the players playing well individually. In the World Cup also, we have to play our natural cricket only. We will go into the same mindset there (as we went into the 2021 Asia U19 Cup).
Sri Lanka U19 captain: First of all, I want to congratulate India and my team. In the semi-final we did well. India did well especially with their bowlers and batters in the finals. We have a good batting line-up but we couldn't perform today. In this World Cup, we will do much better.
Time for the presentations!
Vicky Otswal for his dream performance in the final has been adjudged the Player of the match!
Harnoor Singh gets richer by 1000 USD as he wins the Player of the Tournament award.
India U19 wins the 2021 Asia U19 Championships!
A very easy win for the Boys in Blue as they lift their eighth U19 Asia Cup trophy. Sri Lanka U19 won the toss and made the wrong decision to bat first. The pitch was not at all conducive for batting and all the Indian bowlers troubled them, with left arm spinner Vicky Ostwal scalping three wickets in his spell of 8 overs by conceding just 11 runs.
Sri Lanka U19 scored 106/9 in their allotted lot of 38 overs which was further reduced as India U19 had a target of only 102 to chase. Yasiru Rodrigo did get some swing while bowling and departed Harnoor Singh back to the pavilion but the other bowlers were unable to get anything from the pitch.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi picked up the loose balls by the neck and scored 7 boundaries to remain not out at 56 while scoring the winning runs. SK Rasheed held his hand at the other end as India U19 won the match by 9 wickets and 99 balls to spare.
India U19 should be oozing with confidence heading into the U19 ICC World Cup after proving themselves to be the best among the Asians. The tournament has produced the likes of Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, and countless other future superstars and these boys would be hoping to replicate their performances.
21.3 Matheesha Pathirana to Angkrish Raghuvanshi, FOUR! INDIA WIN THE U19 ASIA CUP FOR THE 8TH TIME! Yorker length on the outside off, Angkrish knew it as he opens the blade and squeezes it fine down the third-man region and the dive from the fielder goes in vain and India complete the annihilation here in Dubai to clinch the Asia Cup title once again!
21.2 Matheesha Pathirana to Angkrish Raghuvanshi, yorker length on the fourth stump line as Angkrish opens the blade and squeezes it to the point fielder.
21.1 Matheesha Pathirana to Angkrish Raghuvanshi, yorker length on the outside off, Angkrish leans into it and carves it past the point fielder and they scamper back for the second. Just 2 needed now!
Angkrish completes his FIFTY! To be honest, it was not a very tough task. The pitch had very less to offer for the bowlers and the youngster picked up the loose balls to score some boundaries. India U-19 need 4 runs to win from 102 balls (DLS method).
