A confident Shafali Verma and a confident Indian team march along. But how good was that to hear from Theertha Satish? There's so much positivity in this UAE team that is here to compete and fight. Their body language sure was on cue and they will be looking to carry this forward into the rest of the tournament as well, while looking to put today's result behind and bounce back quickly.

Shafali Verma (India U19 Captain and Player of the Match): It was a 'paata' wicket (road) but I looked to play my normal shots. The outfield was quick too so we just backed ourselves. No game is easy. I always start each game from the beginning and take something away from each experience. We will work on our mistakes going forward. We will keep backing each other and play freely.

Theertha Satish (UAE U19 Captain): It was super exciting to watch them bat. We're here to learn and get experience. It's the strongest platform to learn. It's a great experience to play the best in the world. We were confident in our body language as well. I think it shows how much experience at this level. Not only Shafali but the way Sehrawat batted as well. We're still here to complete and still here to fight.

A no-contest in the end for India. They didn't put a foot wrong bar losing the toss but after Shafali Verma, Shweta Sehrawat and Richa Ghosh lit up the stage with a belligerent batting display, the UAE were always going to find it tough.

Skipper Theertha Satish came out in a menacing mood and she was keen to make a match of things. Four consecutive boundaries off Shabnam MD later though, she played a false shot and perished in the very first over. And with her went every little opportunity for the UAE to make a fist of things.

India's bowlers were right on the money, mind you. Shabnam and Titas Sadhu were metronomic with their radar while the spinners were no less tidy themselves. Yet, the lack of intent from the UAE batters was rather bemusing to watch. Lavanya Keny just allowed the game to peter out without taking the bull by the horns, even as Mahika Gaur cleared the fence on a couple of occasions.

It was all but an outlier though as India barely put a foot wrong across departments. A fair few of their bowlers rolled their arm over and in the end, they have comprehensively outclassed their opponents to pocket another couple of points. Stick around for the presentation...

Domination from start to finish by the Indians. It has been a stroll in the park for them and they romp home by a massive margin. So much so that the opening stand of 111 between Shafali Verma and Shweta Sehrawat has outscored the UAE in this contest! India win by 122 runs.
