That's all from us then! This is Soumarya Dutta, signing off on behalf of my partner Arya Sekhar Chakraborty. See you soon!
Angelo Mathews, Colombo Stars Captain- Congrats to Jaffna, they outplayed us! The boys did respond well to the challenge but in the end Jaffna were too good. We missed Prasanna especially with the ball turning. Credit to Sadeera and Avishka for the way they played. This tournament has been a great learning curve for the youngsters in Sri Lanka and it has given them a great platform. Lastly, thanks to the fans for backing and supporting us through thick and thin.
Sadeera Samarawickrama, Player of the tournament- Thanks to the Almighty! I have worked really hard in this tournament and I backed myself to do well whenever I got a chance. If I get a chance to don the national colours, I will continue with the good work and give my best for Sri Lanka.
Shoaib Malik: I guess these kinds o moments works are not enough to describe. Very happy to be part of the Jaffa side for the last three years. Credit goes to the whole management and whoever is behind the team. We have all three tournaments. Trust me, if someone takes my test and can compare me with 25 year old boy. My hunger is still there and it's still the same. i go to every hotspot in the fielding position. The best about Perera is he never panics. If some player goes upto him and gives him a suggestion he listens to him. He has no arrogance. When your leader has confidence on his face, you finish on the winning side more often than not.
VijayakanthViyaskanth: It is a beautiful feeling. I said I will finish the match to my friend. Yeah I came here two years before but I think I did hard work this season. We don't have too many good spinners. I have played school level, U 17 U 19. I did it.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz: I'm not really satisfied with my own performance as I couldn't achieve the target I set out to. However I did manage to provide a good start to the team early on and I'm glad about it. There was some late drama but we eventually got their and I'm really happy with this great victory.
Jaffna Kings 164/8 in 19.2 overs Avishka Fernando 50(43) | Benny Howell 2/17 Sadeera Samarawickrama 44(27) | Suranga Lakmal 3/23
What an unbelievable game of cricket did we just witness! It went down to the wire and was an absolute nerve wrecker. The Jaffna Kings were almost cruising at one stage but they made a real mess of it as the Colombo Stars came roaring back into this game. The Jaffna tail-enders did hold their nerve in the end to carve out a famous 3rd LPL title win. For the Kings, it was the partnership between Sadeera Samarawickrama and Avishka Fernando which set them on course for the win. Avishka continued his red hot form as he hit 50 from 43. In the end it was the local lad Vijaykanth Vyaskanth and Binura Fernando, who stayed their till the end and finished it off.
For the Colombo Stars, their bowlers were largely inconsistent and failed to hunt in packs which cost them big time. Suranga Lakmal was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets but he was introduced a little too late in the end and one must feel that Angelo Mathews missed a trick there. Benny Howell was the other man who chipped in with two crucial wickets at the top of the innings.
Overall, it has been an outstanding win for the Jaffna Kings! They dominated for the major part of the game and are the rightful winners of this championship. The Colombo Stars also had their moments though! They fought really hard and made the Jaffna Kings sweat in the end to get to the target. They can proud of the way they played their cricket this season and can hold their heads high as the proud runners up.
Jaffna Kings win by 2 wickets and claim their 3rd LPL title.

19.3 Kasun Rajitha to Vijayakanth Viyaskanth, that's the win for Jaffa Kings. A slower one down the leg side, called a wide and Binura Fernando scampers through for an extra run to get it done for Jaffa.
