That's it for game 1 on this double-header Wednesday. Hop tabs to catch the other game which will start soon. Hope you enjoyed our coverage. For more come back here. Till next time, it's a goodbye from all of us here.
Wanindu Hasaranga | Kandy captain: We are playing good cricket throughout the tournament. We have good batters deep down the order, so my plan is to try and bat till 14-15 overs and then allow those hitters to play their natural game. Carlos bowled really well today.
Thisara Perera | Jaffna captain: Win or lose it is a part of the game. We will learn from this and come back strongly. This is a 170-180 pitch, had we batted well, we would've chased this down easily.
Fabian Allen | Player of the Match: I just went out there, backed myself and executed it. We are playing good cricket and we have a decent bowling group as well.
Sadeera Samarawickrama 48 (41) | Dunith Wellalage - 2/7 Fabian Allen 47 (23) | Carlos Brathwaite - 4/18
It was a fast-paced innings from the outset. Jaffna Kings did well to maintain a good net run rate, very much keeping abreast with the required rate, but the regular fall of wickets kept pegging them back and eventually, resulting in them losing the match!
Avishka Fernando and Sadeera Samawickrama did indeed bat really well by taking the attack to the opposition after Rahmanullah Gurbaz went early, but when Avishka got out, it turned out to be a bit of a procession of wickets.
James Fuller also hit some good shots to keep his team in the game, with some decent support from Vijayakanth Viyaskanth, but that too was cut short by some fine bowling at the death by Kandy Falcons.
Carlos Brathwaite, Isuru Udana, Wanindu Hasaranga and Fabian Allen were good right through the innings. Brathwaite took a four-wicket haul to break the back of the Kings. The fielding too was sharp and backed up the bowling pretty well.
Kandy Falcons are now firmly on top with 10 points from 6 matches. Jaffna Kings though, after suffering their second defeat to the Falcons, stay on 8 points from their 6 games.

19.6 Chamika Karunaratne to Waqar Samarkheil, KANDY FALCONS GET THE WIN! Good length slower ball down leg, a big swing across the line, it takes a bit of pad on the way to beat the diving keeper to his left and it also beats the short fine-leg to his right, to go down to the fine-leg fence for FOUR! But that will be that for the match and Jaffna fall short by 10 runs!
19.5 Chamika Karunaratne to Waqar Samarkheil, short outside off, a miss of the upper cut here, Samarkheil was asking for a wide, but it was not to be! Dot ball.
19.4 Chamika Karunaratne to Waqar Samarkheil, FOUR! Full and just outside off, drilled out to the left of the bowler and the right of mid-off, for a boundary to long-off!
19.3 Chamika Karunaratne to Vijayakanth Viyaskanth, short over off, it hits the bat hard as the batter tries to pull it from the crease, it floats over the bowler then to go to long-off for a single.
