Shaheen Afridi [Lahore Qalandars captain]: The way the boys are playing after the first game has been impeccable; feeling great as a captain. I am following my plan, and I believe that going with my strengths will help me. Rishad has bowled well for Bangladesh as well. He gets wickets in the middle, which is very crucial for us. He (Fakhar) has been playing for nine years, and he and Mitchell batted well. Our plan was to bat first after winning the toss, and 170-180 would be a good total on this wicket
Fakhar Zaman is the Player of the Match! Here's what he has to say: "I say it again, as an opener, I try to do my job, I'm lucky that whenever I score 50 plus, the team wins. With the kind of bowling we have, with the runs on the board, the credit goes to bowlers too. My role is being the aggressor, we lost two early wickets, the surface wasn't the same like the last game. It wasn't coming on nicely, the partnership was key, with the wickets in hand, we could dictate terms later on. That's what happened with Mitchell. It's difficult after the injury, I haven't played in full flow as I said in the last time too. Thanks to the almighty, it's all working out, it's not easy coming back from injury and do well. Board has taken good care of me, the recovery has been good."
David Warner [Karachi Kings captain]: "Losing those wickets didn't help, we lost our way. Also, the powerplay didn't go our way, today's one of those we need to forget and move on. I thought the dew would've helped, but they were 30 or 40 more than where we would've wanted. Loving the energy, everyone's trying their best, the guys jumping around in the ground."
23:33 local time, 00:03 IST: Lahore Qalandars beat Karachi Kings by 65 runs
What a target defense by Lahore Qalandars. The completely outclassed Karachi Kings, and that sees the hosts lose their second game of the season. The margin of defeat is pretty huge if you look at it, and they will want to fix things as soon as possible in the next game.
It was an ominous start with the bat in hand for KK, with them losing David Warner and James Vince in the same over. Another collapse hit them after they lost five wickets for 11 runs, slumping from 39/2 to 50/7. Khushdil Shah and Hasan Ali put on a fight with the bat in hand, but that couldn't go any longer, as LQ picked up wickets at a good pace and sealed the contest in their favor.
For the Qalandar's, Bangladesh's Rishad Hossain and captain Shaheen Afridi were up to the task, picking up three wickets apiece. Sikandar Raza picked up two wickets, with one of them ending the game, while Haris Rauf and Asif Afridi picked up one wicket each. Zaman Khan, who bowled after a layoff, did send a few overs down but didn't complete his spell.
Adam Milne has been dismissed for 16 runs off 7 balls
