Prenelan Subrayen | Captain of the Dolphins: Very happy with this performance. Glad to see that there is stability at the top of the order now. We will take this momentum forward, and hope to go again in the near future. The boys are gelling well and we are all shaping up nicely together.
Keegan Petersen | Batsman of the Match: Glad to have been out in the middle. I will take this form going into this competition. Very pleased with this performance. Happy with the way that the boys performed today.
Daryn Dupavillon | Bowler of the Match: It was an interesting wicket, as the tournament has gone on it has quickened and it has played into my hands. If I'm honest, I missed a lot of balls that I wanted to bowl but that's T20 cricket, when it goes your way, got to make the most of it.
The Dolphins were on top of this game right throughout. Although their bowlers seemed a little inept in the beginning and allowed the Lions to run away to 163, their batters, led by openers Keegan Petersen and Grant Roelofsen chased this total down like child’s play. Although Petersen could manage to score a half-century, Roelofsen was not so lucky. Jon-Jon Smuts, coming in at 3, kept going and did not slow the run rate down at all.
The Lions will have to go back to the drawing board and seek answers as to what went wrong for them. Their bowlers, led by skipper Siboto and other medium pacers, appeared toothless in front of the Dolphins. Myoli could have been given more time with the ball in hand, and this should give the Lions some food for thought. Overall, the Dolphins were the better side, and they deserved to win this game in a lopsided manner.
18.2 Wiaan Mulder to Keegan Petersen, FOUR! Dolphins win easily. Back of a length outside off, Petersen rocks back to pull over mid-wicket, one bounce and over
18.2 Wiaan Mulder to Keegan Petersen, WIDE! Dug in short and too short. Wide called
18.1 Wiaan Mulder to Keegan Petersen, FOUR! Petersen gets lucky. Thick inside-edge runs away past the stumps to the fine-leg fence
Wiaan Mulder (1-0-5-0)will bowl the nineteenth over.
Sixteen runs came off this over- it was a MASSIVE one for the Dolphins! Just six needed now.
