Mohammad Rizwan (Multan Sultans' captain) - I felt that it was a good score because I have a lot of trust in our coach, Abdur Rehman's reading of the pitch. He said that anything above 180 would be a good score. At one point, we thought we could get more, spoke to Malan, but we need to give credit to their bowlers as well. We have the best hitters in Pakistan and we did not need them today. Our bowlers, all of them, bowled really well from the likes of Abbas and Mohammad Ali.

Reeza Hendricks is the Player Of The Match! Here's what he has to say: The conditions played a role in us slowing down, definitely wasn't easy in the middle. There was a bit of purchase for the spinners and the slower ones were holding. Conditions definitely played a part. Was never intentional to go as slow, but the partnership helped us to set it up and finish it at the back end. It was new conditions for me, to set up and assess and play accordingly. That's exactly what I did, managed some time in the middle. The wicket got easier, and then I could play my natural game. We just saw the conditions and went with it, ended up being a good total today.

Multan Sultan have started the tournament with a thumping win against Karachi Kings in what turned out be a pretty-one sided affair. The target of 186, one which looked like it could be a bit under par at the inning break, ended up being more than enough for the Multan Sultan. Karachi Kings were never in the chase and have fallen short by a big margin of 55 runs.

Coming out to chase in the second half, Karachi made a sedate start with the bat. But what was not sedate was the bowling from David Willey. He got the ball to move around and removed 2 wickets in 2 deliveries in the third over to push Karachi on the backfoot early at 2/10. Shan Masood and Shoaib Malik provided some resistance after that with the former struggling for timing. Masood eventually holed out on 30 to Hamza after a not so impressive outing.

Shoaib Malik combined with Nawaz and tried to give the chase some momentum with a few big hits. He got to his 50 in the process but fell on the next delivery and that was pretty much it for Karachi. The likes of Sams, Hasan and Hamza did not trouble the scorers and even though Pollard was on the crease for Karachi he could not take them over the line since the required rate had gone through the charts. He farmed the strike in the last few overs and ended up on a less than a run a ball 28. For Multan, the bowlers were clinical and brilliant in their execution. David Willey started it all with 2 wickets, but Mohammad Ali and Abbas Afridi were brilliant with their yorkers and variations and got 3 and 2 wickets respectively.

Earlier in the piece, Karachi got to 185 on the back of a record 121-run partnership for the second wicket between Reeza Hendricks and Dawid Malan who scored 79* and 52 runs respectively. Their skipper Rizwan fell early but these two made sure that Multan got to a good score. Also, a brilliant cameo of 28 was played at the end by Khushdil to provide the finishing kick to the innings. For Karachi, Usama Mir and Daniel Sams picked up a wicket each.
