Stumps on Day 1 - Mumbai 217/6, lead Assam by 133 runs in the 1st innings.
Shardul Thakur's 6/21 blew Assam away for a paltry 84 at the Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy in Mumbai as the hosts romped towards a healthy lead by the end of Day 1. It was a one-man show with the bat though as Shivam Dube blitzed an unbeaten 101 off 95 balls, forging a 103-run partnership for the sixth wicket with Shams Mulani (31). The day was marred by controversy though as Mumbai skipper Ajinkya Rahane was adjudged out for apparently obstructing the field just at the stroke of Tea. Assam, however, withdrew their appeal but Rahane could add just four more runs before being dismissed.
