Michael Bracewell (New Zeland captain) - Really happy with the way the guys put the learnings of the last night today. Was particularly impressed with the way the two debutants way tonight, It is tough to play in front of a packed stadium but they put up in a good position, The way that Ish (Sodhi) bowled really well and pulled it back for us, he has been doing that for us so well. We were happy chasing 179. The partnership between Chapman and Foxcroft was amazing, also the openers. Chapman has been quite good for us here for a while.

Babar Azam (Pakistan captain): (About middle order slowing down after losing wickets) No, it didn't, we caught up well but we were short 10 or 15 runs, Rizwan's injury was a set back and the new batter coming in, it wasn't easy to get going immediately but 180 or 190 was par score, we didn't bat well, yes.(On Shadab's promotion) Depends on the situation, it demanded for Shadab to come in and he accelerated well today, he plays his natural game and he executes the plans given to him and he showed what he was asked to do. (On dropped catches) We started well in the first six overs, Chapman is a brilliant batter and if you drop catch of him, he will make us pay. We need to work on the mistakes.

Mark Chapman is the Player of the Match for his scintillating knock of 87(42)*! Here's what he has to say: It's always nice to come here, thankfully we could level the series, 1-1 today. We knew, they have a great attack and this score is generally chaseable, but bowlers stuck to their task and was outstanding to see that. Yesterday, it was slower and we lost wickets in heap, any day, if you have 100 partnership, you give yourself a good chance to win and Foxcroft is relatively new, to bat and put up 100 runs partnership was pleasing. The way Seifert and Robinson set it up, gave us the platform for us to come in and we knew Pakistan's death bowling and it worked out for us.

Just 24 hours ago, New Zeland were blown away for 90 in what was a dismal batting performance and come the next match they have got home to a canter in a run chase of 179, what a difference 24 hours can make.. They have also leveled the 5-match series at 1-1

At no point did it look like Pakistan would make a match out of it, such was the clinic displayed by the Kiwi batters. It started right from the top with both the Tim's getting off too brisk starts. But then it was a mammoth 117-run partnership for the third wicket which sealed the deal for New Zeland.

Chapman was in sublime touch and he almost played around with the bowlers on his way to an unbeaten 87* with a whopping strike rate, Foxcroft played a perfect second fiddle and enjoyed the view from the best seat in the house.

It was not the day for Pakistan bowlers who lacked control and discipline with the ball. Apart from a couple of searing yorkers, there was not a lot to write home for them.

Earlier in the piece, Pakistan had a mixed sort of an effort with the bat where they got to a middling score of 178 on the back of crucial knocks from Shadab Khan and Irfan Niazi.

A whole lot of credit needs to be given to the New Zeland bowlers, specially Ish Sodhi, who did not allow the batters to go big.
