Commentary

Right, what an astounding win by RCB and they've just announced to the teams that they are coming after a playoffs spot! An emphatic win and that will boost their confidence going into the last two fixtures. As for the Rajasthan Royals, this might just be it as far as their campaign is concerned, although they can keep some hope and will depend on other results. It's been quite an encounter this and we hope that the second game of the evening has the same in store as CSK take on KKR. Switch tabs and catch all the live action from that game! Wayne Parnell (Player of the Match): Obviously I think credit goes over to our batters. The last over turned momentum over to us. It was really pleasing the way it came off. Our batters had the same message - to take the pace off and keep it at the wickets. Winning by a big margin was crucial to us. It is a similar surface to back in Paarl so trying to bowl at the stumps. I think even when I wasn't playing it was about preparing for everything. Niggles come up.

Faf du Plessis (Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper): Yeah it's a really good thing for NRR. We spoke about NRR before the game. It was a really difficult pitch and when we batted first, we assessed the conditions. Ww thought that 160 would be a good score. In the end, Anuj pushed us towards a very good score. It's something we haven't had, we have not had the best final overs. Such a day to do that, everyone shows up and the confidence is up. You need to make sure you capitalise on it. We were like something that's non-negotiable for us as a team. Everyone set that intensity and guys enjoy celebrating with great fashion. Bracewell was bowling on a wicket that he would've wanted to bowl on every day of the week. We made the decision that Shahbaz would be valuable. The wrist spinners can be off the line while attacking but finger-spinners are more disciplined. We hope we can set it up. A lot of confidence from this game. The next game is really important. Today was really good for the team and I'm sure everyone will be really motivated for the last two games.

Michael Bracewell: Nice to get back there and bag those two points. Nice to come out and contribute to that win. We have got great support staff in RCB. They helped us stay match-fit whenever we get an opportunity. It was a massive innings from Anuj which gave us the momentum in the 2nd innings. The bowlers did a fantastic job in the powerplay and credit to our top three as well. I think I got a little bit of lucky, this is the nature of T20 cricket. Sometimes you bowl well and don't get the rewards and sometimes its vice versa. Two more must-win games coming up, we have to take game by game. As a group we tend to thrive on this sort of situations.

Sanju Samson (Rajasthan Royals captain): I think in our batting, top three were scoring a lot of runs but today it didn’t came out well. Too early to say on the batting today. You have to go hard at the bowlers n the powerplay. This is how me, Jos and Jaiswal plays in the ppwerplay. Credit to RCB. They had the spirit to win the game. It could have been a very tight game had we batted well in the powerplay and in the middle overs against spin. I was just thinking about where did we go wrong, I am just thinking through it dont have an answer to be honest. We know the nature of IPL, things can change in a couple of days. We have seen some very funny things, we have to be strong and think about the game we are playing in Dharamsala. We have to keep hopes high and try our best. Anything can happen. You cant really blame the batters who kept going hard as they thought the match was in their grasp.

Demolition, carnage, dominance! Words fall short to describe what RCB has just achieved at Jaipur and they might have very well evaporated Rajasthan Royals' hopes of making it into the playoffs with this emphatic win! Such has been the prowess of RCB that the batters have crumbled for a score of just 59 runs - the third-lowest total in the history of the IPL!

RCB were on the top right from the get-go and they never took their foot off the gas pedal. It was Siraj once again who provided them the opening breakthrough, sending back Jaiswal while Buttler followed almost immediately as he perished to what was not the best of deliveries by Parnell. Skipper Sanju Samson skied one and RR were three down within the first two overs!

Joe Root held the fort for a while but eventually was undone by a slower yorker from Parnell while Impact sub Padikkal mistimed one into the hands of the fielder at short mid-wicket, which was a sharp catch by Siraj. Hetmyer played a brave cameo and saved them from what would have been perhaps the lowest total in the IPL as he went after the bowlers and took the spinners, especially Karn Sharma, to the cleaners.

Dhruv Jurel had to walk out well too early than what he would have liked and holed out. A piece of brilliance by Anuj Rawat saw Ashwin be short of his crease and from there on, it was just comfortable for RCB as Karn Sharma snared the wickets of Zampa and KM Asif to wrap up the innings. Oh what a performance this has been and they leap up to the fifth position in the points table with a healthy net run-rate in the positives now! For the Royals though, they'll only be able to get to 14 points at best and this might just be the end to their qualification hopes, unless other results go their way.

10.3 Karn Sharma to KM Asif, WICKET! Game over, what an emphatic win for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. A floated delivery around the middle stump channel, Asif tries to thrash this down the ground, but doesn't get the timing he was after. Just gets the elevation but not the distance. Kohli settles under that and takes it comfortably at long-on.

10.1 Karn Sharma to Adam Zampa, WICKET! Adam Zampa trying something very cute there and loses his off-stump. That was on a length around the middle stump channel, Zampa tries to be cheeky there, goes for the reverse past the short third man fielder, misses that completely as the ball rattles the stumps. RCB just one wicket away from a massive victory.
