Before we get into the actual playing arena, we have Alzarri Joseph with us. Alzarri says he prefers bowling from the pavilion end due to the strong cross breeze. My run up is 56 feet. It's just the way I know my mark as some of the guys are close to it. My two sporting heroes Dale Steyn and Steven Gerrard is the reason behind number right. The straight boundary is 74 metres. 62 and 63 metres side boundary. Generally for the start in the powerplay, you have to hit the same spots for the extra bit of bounce. It's different to the rest of wickets. As a strike bowler, my role is to pick wickets, especially in the powerplay. Generally, it is a fantastic pitch. There has been rain around. 16 mm yesterday and 3 mm today. However there will be moisture despite not having rain around and the team winning the toss should look to bowl first.

Kieron Pollard (captain, Trinbago Knight Riders): Very good game of cricket from both sides. I believe we game 15-20 runs too many and were poor in the field as well. Said to the boys that if we are beaten in skills like batting and bowling it is fine but bat fielding is unacceptable. He is a skilled bowler and time and again has shown what he can do in the end overs throughout our campaign. Special mention to Parris as well batted well and not many know about him. (On playing Barbados Royals in Barbados) That is another venue where I have played in the past and people love me a bit there as well (smiles)

Faf du Plessis (captain, St. Lucia Kings): Great game of cricket, quality powerplay from both teams and I would have taken 190. Disappointed with the bowling powerplay, went for 70 in the first 6 but since then a really good comeback from everyone and the second last over, probably two more sixes. This is a tough ground to field, many factors hence you see dropped catches. We were in the contest for 90% of the game. We felt like we did a lot of good things and stay positive as a ground. When you lose a game badly, like the last one, you feel that a bit more but when you play a good game of cricket, you can walk off with your chin high

Kieron Pollard is the Player of the Match, here is what he had to say: Obviously for someone who has played for West Indies for a long time, captained them and played a lot in St Lucia and for them to boo.... Young Shaq batted brilliantly and set the tempo right from the outset. He slowed down a bit but this is why we play a team sport. Everyone has to chip. Everyone knows there role and mine is to finish off games. Now it is my opportunity to give opportunity to young guys until I decide to call it quits.

We'd like to start off by apologizing to Kieron Pollard for doubting his finishing abilities. He still has it in him and as a bowler, you wouldn't want to bowl to him at any cost.

TKR started the chase nicely. They lost Narine early but Shaqkere Parris walked out to the middle and got them to 70 in the powerplay. Parris got to his 50 but also slowed down in the middle overs. Pooran was dismissed cheaply while disappointing knocks from Carty and Gous sank TKR into further trouble. Pollard started off strongly and then tore into the bowling attack. Pollard almost sealed the game in the penultimate over, scoring 24 of the 27 runs needed as Hosein got a boundary and sealed the deal for TKR.

Faf du Plessis might have got a flashback of his playing days for Chennai Super Kings against Mumbai Indians except this time, it was du Plessis who was in blue. Noor Ahmad and Shadrack Descarte were the most impressive of the lot, while Matthew Forde became Pollard's latest victim of swashbuckling finishing. Alzarri Joseph did trouble the batters but wasn't able to prize wickets at crucial stages of the match.

19.1 Alzarri Joseph to Akeal Hosein, FOUR! That's game set and match for the Trinbago Knight Riders. A short of a length delivery well outside off, plenty of width on offer and Akeal flays it away over point and that skips away to the fence. TKR win by 4 wickets.

A first half-century for Pollard since 2021 and what better time to get it? He looks back to being at his destructive best and has scored 24 runs in this over. TKR need 3 runs in 6 balls
