That's all from us then. We hope you enjoyed our coverage of this KFC T20 international between South Africa and Australia. For now, this is Soumarya Dutta taking your leave on behalf of Pratyush. See you soon!
Right so, the Aussies have humbled the Proteas for the third successive occasion here at Durban and they've won the series 3-0! It has been a remarkable effort from a rather young and inexperienced Australian side and they will be mighty proud of the way this team has shaped up. South Africa will be disappointed though. They were missing some players too but they had far more experience in their ranks and they should have done better in this series. There will be a lot of soul-searching in that Proteas camp as they head on to the ODI series and they will be looking to come back with some better performances.
Mitchell Marsh, Australia Captain - I do enjoy coming to South Africa and it's a great place to tour. We gelled well as team and we played some really positive cricket and really proud of the way, this group has come over here and played. I've matured a lot as a leader and have learnt from the early days at Perth Scorchers as a captain. We're building towards next years world cup and we're really pleased with the way our domestic players have stepped up and have been at home in the international level. It's never easy winning for the first time in South Africa but these boys have achieved that and we're mighty proud of these boys.
Travis Head is the Player of the Match. Here is what he has to say: It's nice to be back and contributing for the time. There have been limited opportunities for me in this format and it's nice to contribute tonight. The power we've got in this team puts pressure on the bowlers. Once we're set, I was looking to pick the right moment and then we're good. It shows where we're at. With 4-5 guys not here, the guys from the BBL have stepped out. It's nice to see that in the build up to the T20 World Cup that is next year.
Aiden Markram: Yeah we were slightly better today. Not exactly where we want to be but we know we can get better, take from our learnings and take it forward. There were a few partnerships. We were getting momentum and losing momentum. Credit to Donavon with the way he played on debut. To get to a total like 190, you'll always take it. We were pretty much happy with it. It's quite big for us. The World Cup coming up is huge. We've got a team in mind and are looking forward to the ODI series. The fans have been fantastic. They turn up at Kingsmead for us. We haven't put on the performances we'd like too but they've still supported us throughout. Hopefully, we can perform better for them in the future.
Australia 191/5 in 17.5 overs Travis Head 91(48) | Bjorn Fortuin 2/36 Josh Inglis 42(22) | Gerald Coetzee 2/36
This has been an absolutely incredible batting effort from Australia and they've won this game in a one-sided fashion. The South Africans have just been blown away here for the third consecutive time in the series and this one would hurt them real bad as they had 190 to defend this time.
Australia started off on a disastrous note as Matthew Short was adjudged LBW of the very first ball of the innings but from there onwards it was all about the batters. Travis Head played a remarkable knock of 91 and he absolutely thumped it to all corners of the ground during his stay. He rode his luck a bit too as there were some dropped chances in the middle but it was an magnificent innings from him .
He was given good support from Josh Inglish who went after the bowling from ball one and played a blistering cameo of 42 runs. Once he had been dismissed, Marcus Stoinis came in and continued the carnage. He hit a few massive ones into the crowd and ensured that the Aussies were always ahead of the game. There were a couple of late wickets towards the back end, but the Aussies romped home fairly comfortably in the end.
The bowlers took a real hammering today for South Africa and there isn't a lot to write home about what has been a below par bowling effort from them. Markram picked up an early wicket but they struggled after that as they were either too full or too short which made life easy for the batters. Fortuin and Coetzee picked up a couple of wickets each but it was never going to bother the Aussies much since they had been in cruise control of the game.
Australia win by 5 wickets and clinch the series 3-0!
17.5 Gerald Coetzee to Marcus Stoinis, THAT WILL BE THAT! Australia win by 5 wickets and 13 balls to spare! Full delivery to angle it into the pads, Stoinis flicks it to deep backward square leg to complete the clean sweep for the visitors.
17.4 Gerald Coetzee to Ashton Turner, finds the yorker outside the off-stump. Turner squeezes it out to third man to level the scores!
17.3 Gerald Coetzee to Marcus Stoinis, another one banged in short. Stoinis controls his pull to deep square leg for another single. Only two needed now
