Sydney Thunder Women beat Brisbane Heat Women for the first time in almost two years to move to the top of the league table. While Tahlia Wilson set the total up for them, their bowlers ensured that they did not concede too many runs. Heat skipper Jess Jonassen came on late in the innings to try and tilt the game in her side's favour, but unfortunately, it was not possible.

Mignon Du Preez played a cracking knock to ensure that the Heat were within touching distance of the chase. She was assisted nicely by Charlie Knott and Amelia Kerr. However, the chase fell agonisingly short towards the end. This win will give the Thunder a lot of confidence going further into the competition.
