That's it from the coverage here today. Thanks a lot for joining us- Mohul Bhowmick and Sooryanarayan Sesha- for this exciting game in the MLC. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did bringing it to you. Until next time, take care!
Faf Du Plessis (Texas Super Kings captain): If you look at the middle order that they have- Pooran, David and Pollard- I think we did very well to have composure and pull off the win. DJ Bravo was phenomenal for us. The crowd was wonderful today- it is always the case when MI take on the Super Kings, be it in India or here. Mohsin has a big bag of tricks and he is constantly impressing us. I like fielding, and along with David Miller, pride myself on going to the right positions and always wanting the ball to come to us. I think DJ and I think alike, so it is always nice to bounce ideas off him. Thank you very much to everyone who came, the crowd was fantastic!
Kieron Pollard (MI New York captain): I thought it was a gettable total. The coach spoke with us regarding how we could go about it but our batting today was extremely poor. Every time we tried to build a partnership, we lost wickets. We did not have a good start in the powerplay and that is something we need to work upon. The temptation of sending David up the order is always there, but we just did not get the job done today.
Devon Conway is the Player of the Match for his superb knock of 74. Here's what he has to say: I think it was a slight challenge up front. I felt the ball wasn't quite coming on in the powerplay. But myself and Faf decided to take a little bit of time and assess the conditions. We chat out there, have a blueprint of how to go out there and stay positive. The wind was going down breeze so I thought to try and hit with the wind as much as possible. We had a great crowd too so thanks for all the support.
Daniel Sams (Texas Super Kings): (On those last two wickets) Obviously coming up against Tim, I know what he's about coming from Australia. I was lucky enough that it wasn't a good hit. After we got him it was a bit of a relief (grins). It's one of those wickets where with runs on the board, you've got to defend it. You're always in the game. I think Mitch (Santner) batted well to get us to where we got. The way we started with the ball we were able to hold on for the rest of the innings. (On the support) It's been awesome. My first game and the guys in the crowd have been fantastic. Hopefully in Morrisville it's the same. It's awesome playing with someone like him (DJ Bravo). You want to soak up everything that he has. Already had a couple of good conversations with him and it's great to be on the same team and not face him.
Texas Super Kings were the better side throughout this game, and thoroughly deserve this win. MI New York will consider themselves unlucky to not have pulled off this victory given that they had Rashid Khan and their star batter Tim David at the crease towards the end of the innings.
Texas were served well by Devon Conway earlier in the day, and their bowlers ensured that victory was possible for them by the end of the evening. All of their bowlers shared their responsibility equally and made sure that they did not give too many freebies away to the batters of MI New York.
Daniel Sams, however, deserves a special mention owing to the fantastic last over that he bowled. The latter were good with the ball in hand, and it cannot be said that they did something extremely bad to deserve this defeat.
However, as is often the case, cricket is a game of small margins, and MI New York would have done well to get off to a good start in the powerplay. Had that been the case, the pressure on the incoming batters Pooran, Pollard, David and Rashid might have been a little less.
Still, a word of appreciation for opener Shayan Jahangir, who tried his best to take this game deep. Unfortunately, it was not enough, and the Super Kings were the deserving winners of this game.
What an impeccable final over from Sams! He was brilliant today!

19.6 Daniel Sams to Trent Boult, THAT IS THAT! Very full at the stumps and Boult makes a hint of room to shovel it down to long on. That will not do though and this has been an incredible defense by the men in Yellow. Whistles everywhere as Texas Super Kings win by 17 runs!
19.5 Daniel Sams to Rashid Khan, aims for the yorker on the off stump. Ends up very full and Rashid clubs it down the ground with utmost disdain. Du Plessis charges to his left from long on and tidies up - he's everywhere is the skipper!
