As we draw the curtains on an exciting T20 series, we'd like to thank you for joining our feed throughout. This is Pratyush Rohra, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator, Prakhar Sachdeo, and the rest of the crew at Sportskeeda. Goodnight and take care!
Right then. After a disappointing series loss in the ODI series against Ireland last month, the West Indies have bounced back in their favourite format to trounce the world's no.1 T20I side. England, giving their young players an opportunity, will be disappointed to come up short in this innings. Plenty of absentees for both sides, so that's not an excuse England will be looking to bring about. Not a happy couple of months for the men's side, eh? At least the women held on to a memorable draw earlier today, if that's any consolation for the English fans. The England men will be back here to play in the whites, with the Test series beginning in March. We'll be right here to bring you all the action from that one as well, of course!
Jason Holder is also the Player of the Series. Here's what he has to add: It is a lot of hard work, Death bowling is a lot of hard work. But bowling in the death has helped my confidence. I really feel good about my role in the team. I feel happy in whatever way I can help the team. Even when I am not bowling I am helping the young players with inputs. I just want to contribute. I am thankful for the ECB to send their team here. I am happy that the team came here. It helps the sport grow. I am looking forward to the England Test team and the Barmy Army coming here. May the best team win.
Kieron Pollard: It is a wonderful feeling. I am thankful to the team. Empty vessels make the most noise. The guys have worked hard. Bot the guys need a chance to perform. This was a final. In the final whatever score you put you can put pressure. We tried sending Romario up in the order but that did not work out. But we batted and bowled well. Brandon batted well. Jason Holder bowled well. This is his ground. Pooran too batted well. It has been total series.
Jason Holder (Player of the match): A classy finish. I was just trying to stay in the game. You never know how this game can go. Last night was a topsy-turvy game for me as well. Started well there but couldn't finish it off. Started off badly today but got the job done in the end. I was a bit disappointed with the no-ball. I back myself with my discipline. It's not the best start to the last over but I think it was crucial to deliver my best ball post that. It was really pleasing to do that. That was just pumped up (during his celebration with Pollard). I love playing at the Kensington Oval. It was one of the greatest venues in the world. We've got the best fans in the world and I want to thank the English fans as well for coming here.
Moeen Ali (England captain): West Indies were the better team tonight. We did not adapt well to the conditions. We did not bowl badly tonight. We are trying to work out solutions. It seems like the new ball comes nicely but then it gets harder when the ball gets soft. It was a great series. We struggled in these conditions. We are good when the wickets are flat. I do enjoy leading England. But Jos does that work, so it's not too much I think about. Having said that, I do enjoy leading the team whenever I get the chance.
West Indies win by 17 runs and clinch the T20I series 3-2.
Wonderful scenes at the Kensington Oval as the West Indian side completes a lap of honor to thank the crowd for their support. Smiles all around with the maroon flags waving. The cricket-crazed fans of the island nation love their cricket, don't they? A piece of history for them to take along with Jason Holder's four wickets in four balls.
After deciding to bat first, the West Indians got all their plans right to keep England at bay. Credit to Kieron Pollard for his captaincy tonight. He made the most of the match-ups and ensured that its his side that keep dictating the tempo of this game.
James Vince's valiant half-century alongside Sam Billings cameo towards the end wasn't enough for the visitors. Struggle in the middle overs cost England this game and it was the Men in Maroon that held their nerves in the end.
Jason Holder's fifer stands out alongside Akeal Hosein's four-fer. Odean Smith did a decent job against Moeen, while Fabian Allen did his bit towards the latter end. Jason Holder's having a chat with Sir Garfield Sobers. What a frame that is. It's a party atmosphere in Barbados. A party that will surely go long into the night.
Stick around for the presentations.
It's all happening at the Kensington Oval! Jason Holder has four wickets in four balls. That just clipped the bails off. None of the West Indies players realized that initially. Absolute jubilation as soon as they did! The Kensington Oval goes wild as West Indies clinch the series 3-2 with a win by 17 runs.
19.5 Jason Holder to Saqib Mahmood, WHAT HAS HAPPENED THERE! HOLDER HAS GOT 4 in 4! Slow fuller ball right in the slot. The ball goes through Mahmood's defences and hits the base of the middle and leg stump. Holder can barely believe it as he lets out a chuckle. West Indies are elated as they clinch the series with a 17-run victory!
