So, we have one more match coming up tomorrow between these sides in this series. It will be one more chance for both these teams to test themselves out before the T20 World Cup warm-ups. Which side will get the win and carry the momentum forward then? Join us again to know all about it, ball by ball, moment by moment! For now, this is the pair of Darpan and Bidipto taking your leave. Keep following Sportskeeda!
Brandon King (West Indies captain): Really happy with how we turned things around with the ball and won the game, this should give us a lot of confidence going forward! We were clinical with the bat, out spinners did an excellent job and our fielding shone through, so cannot complain one bit. We hope to carry this momentum forward into the T20 World Cup and hopefully, give out fans a lot to cheer about. But first, with the series in the bag, it's time to win again tomorrow.
Rassie van der Dussen (South Africa captain): I think we have to bowl better in these conditions. Our spinners did bowl well, but we left a few runs out there. Bjorn Fortuin bowled highly economically and Nqabayomzi Peter on debut could not have done any better. He looked like he has been playing for years. So he is definitely a very good prospect. But now, we get another chance to get things right. Hope to go well for that!
Roston Chase [67*(38) & 1/26, Player of the Match]: I have been ready for the opportunity. Preparing, training hard. Sammy spoke to me about my role. I play this role in the CPL too. The plan was to take it to the 14th over and then accelerate. As we found, the wicket was better than the last game. To be successful with the ball in the powerplay, you have to be wanting to bowl in the powerplay. I am very pleased with my performance today.
The post match presentation is coming up in a few moments. Stay around. Till then, you can go through the summary of the game jotted below ⬇️
West Indies win by 16 runs and win the series 2-nil with one match left!
The way South Africa started, it looked as though the match would be over in 15 overs! Both Reeza Hendricks and Quinton de Kock scored 81 runs in 29 balls and took the Proteas way clear of the asking rate. The visitors brought up 100 within 8 overs and were ahead of the rate required for a long time.
But that phase of four deliveries from the final ball of the 5th over to the 3rd ball of the 6th over eked out both the opening batters and since then, spin started to have a massive say! All the finger spinners, along with, Romario Shepherd, were able to keep the runs in check and find consistent lines and lengths to bowl.
The South African middle-order could not really get things going, resulting in 8 overs without a boundary! Then can the over from Obed McCoy in which the drought broke with a six and two fours. But, the following over from Gudakesh Motie changed everything and turned the match the hosts' way, with wickets of both Rassie van der Dussen and Wiaan Mulder!
The rest of the batting was not good enough to chase the runs down as the follow-up was just a formality, more than anything else. On this wicket that offered grip and turn for the spinners, the West Indies were far superior with ball in hand. But they will be worried about the number of no-balls they bowled in this innings!
The fielding was undoubtedly high-class! The efforts put in, the body language and the catching were a grade above what quite a few expect of the West Indies! If they continue to do it this way, they are sure to be among the top contenders of winning the World Cup coming up!

19.6 Romario Shepherd to Bjorn Fortuin, heaves away on to the on side. Doesn't get it in the middle of the bat. The ball meanders down to deep midwicket and they jog a single to complete the formalities. West Indies win the match and take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.
The final ball of the innings, coming up!
19.5 Romario Shepherd to Bjorn Fortuin, ATTEMPTED YORKER! The batter gets his bat down and hits it to cover at the edge of the inner ring. No runs.
