That's all from us then! We hope you enjoyed our coverage of this 3rd ODI between Zimbabwe and the Netherlands! This is Soumarya Dutta ,signing off on behalf of my partner Soorya. See you soon!
Craig Ervine, Zimbabwe Captain - I thought we pulled the game back really well and restricted them to a total that could have been chased! We needed to get off to a good start and ensure that we kept up with the run rate. It's always nice to see the youngsters do well and Wesley with the ball was brilliant and he is a special player for us . I felt that our fielding was a bit below par in this series and we will be looking to improve on that . We have a bit of time before the World Cup qualifiers and we will look to address the important issues.
Sean Williams is the Player of the Match for his all-round performance. He is also the Player of the Series. Here's what he has to say: It's a nice feeling getting over the line for your team and doing the job. It just needed one guy to go well. To restrict them to 230 on that wicket was really good and all we needed was one big partnership. I came down with quite a bad flu and I had broken my finger a while ago. It's been hard but I've been blessed with some runs. That's my main goal and our main goal at the moment - to prepare for the Qualifiers and do well there and hopefully seal a ticket (to the World Cup).
Scott Edwards (Netherlands captain): Maybe not (enough runs). We thought it was around the mark and the 230-250 range would keep us in the game. But they batted us out - they batted really well. It was one of those games we should have won (the last one) but in saying that in the first game, we fought back and won a game we probably shouldn't have. I think we've performed pretty well across all three games. Obviously a few things to fix up but it's good practice before the Qualifiers. (On the South Africa series coming up) Obviously straight into it, I think we play in a week's time. Looking forward to it and hopefully we can seal the series.
It's time for the presentation and first up, Aleem Dar is felicitated as he brings the curtains down on his umpiring career. What a great career he has had!
Zimbabwe 235/3 in 41.4 overs Gary Ballance 64*(72) | Shariz Ahmad 2/71 Wesley Madhevere 50(61) | Fred Klaassen 1/45
This has been an absolutely clinical batting effort from Zimbabwe and they've got home comfortably in the end. It was set up for them by the opening pair of Craig Ervine and Wesley Madhevere who put on 96 runs for the opening stand! The pair played attacking cricket early on and ensured that the seamers were rendered ineffective. Once the initial threat had been overcome it was always going to be easy for Zimbabwe. They did loose both the openers in quick succession though, but the experienced pair of Sean Williams and Gary Ballance put on another 97 run stand to take them to the brink of the chase.
Gary Ballance played an incredible knock of 64 not out under pressure and showed his class yet again. He was given great company by Sean Williams , who was equally good for his knock of 43. Once he was gone, Sikandar Raza came in and finished things off in a jiffy as he smashed a couple of fours and a gigantic six of Fred Klaassen.
The Dutch bowlers had a tough time, as they struggled to pick up wickets at the key junctures and failed to break the partnership. Shariz Ahmad did get two wickets but he was extremely expensive as was Paul Van Meekeren. Aryan Dutt, was the most of economical bowler for them, but Zimbabwe negotiated him well and ensured that they didn't give him any wicket. Fred Klaassen did get a wicket towards the later stages but it was a little too late by that time.
Overall we've had a great series of ODI cricket and Zimbabwe reserved their best for the last as they managed to get over the line with ease and clinch the series. The Dutch will be disappointed and they will be looking back at the first innings as they fell at least a good 40 runs short on what was a pretty good wicket to bat on. Both the sides however can take a lot of positives from this series and come back stronger and better prepared for the World Cup Qualifiers.
Zimbabwe win by 7 wickets and clinch the series 2-1!
41.4 Shariz Ahmad to Sikandar Raza, FOUR! FINISHES IT OFF IN STYLE! How fitting is it that one of Zimbabwe's modern-day greats gets to have the final say in the contest! Short and well outside the off stump as Raza shuffles across his stumps. He lifts his front foot and carves a cheeky loft up and over mid-off to clear the inner ring comfortably. A fitting end to a dominant run chase with the Chevrons barely breaking a sweat. Zimbabwe win by 7 wickets and take the series 2-1!
41.3 Shariz Ahmad to Gary Ballance, fired into the block hole wide of off stump. Ballance jams his bat down and creams it square of the wicket to the right of sweeper cover. The scores are now level!
41.2 Shariz Ahmad to Gary Ballance, FOUR MORE! Brings out the slog sweep this time as Shariz flights it full and wide of off stump. Ballance sits low, fetches it across the line and hammers it towards the cow corner fence. Just 2 runs away now...
