Orlando Brown Jr: A Brief Biography

Orlando Claude Brown Jr. plays in the National Football League (NFL). He plays in the position of an offensive tackle for the Baltimore Ravens. Born on May 2, 1996, Brown played college football at Oklahoma. He was drafted in the 2018 NFL Draft by the Ravens in the third round. He is the son of the late offensive tackle Orlando Brown, who also played for the Ravens.

Brown Jr. played high school football at Peachtree Ridge High School in Suwanee, Georgia, where he was a three-star prospect. Many major NCAA schools offered Brown Jr. scholarships. Brown decided to attend the University of Oklahoma eventually although at first he attended University of Tennessee. In his freshman year in 2014 he decided to redshirt, and was named the starting left tackle in 2015.

He took to Twitter on January 3, 2018, to announce that he was forgoing a fifth season to enter the 2018 NFL Draft. Sports Illustrated ranked him as the fourth best offensive tackle in the draft, while DraftScout.com and Scouts Inc. ranked him the sixth best and the eighth best offensive tackle by NFL analyst Mike Mayock.

In 2018 Brown was the ninth offensive tackle drafted and was considered to be one of the biggest steals in the draft by analysts. With a signing bonus of $865,720, the Baltimore Ravens signed Brown to a four-year, $3.49 million contract on May 16, 2018. In his rookie season he started as a right tackle at 10 games of all the 16 games that he appeared in. He started in the Wild Card loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. In the 2020 Pro Bowl held on January 15, 2020, Brown was added to the active Pro Bowl roster, replacing injured Oakland Raider Trent Brown. However, he was named as an alternate at offensive tackle. In 2020, Brown was named to his second Pro Bowl.
