Anna Nikolayevna Kalinskaya is a Russian tennis player who achieved a career-high ranking of No. 15 on August 12, 2024. The 25-year-old recorded her best Grand Slam performance by reaching the quarterfinal of the 2024 Australian Open. Besides singles, she is known for playing doubles tournaments. Kalinskaya has won three WTA doubles titles as of August 2024, including the 2023 St. Petersburg Open and the 2021 Portoroz Open. Kalinskaya has won one WTA 125 title at the 2023 Midland, defeating Jana Fett in straight sets.
She reached her first WTA 1000 final at the 2024 Dubai Tennis Championships, becoming the second qualifier after Carolina Garcia to reach the WTA 1000 final. With her commendable performance, she created three upsets by defeating Coco Gauff, Iga Swiatek and Jelena Ostapenko. To pursue tennis at a professional level, Kalinskaya shifted to the United States at the age of 14. She also trained at the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy in France and currently trains in Miami.
During her junior year, Kalinskaya won eight singles and eight doubles titles and achieved a ranking of No. 3. She also lifted the 2016 Australian Open title in the girls’ doubles category. She made her WTA debut at the 2014 Kremlin Cup after receiving a wildcard in the tournament.
